We arrived to Lago around 4PM this past Sunday. We thought it was going to be such a nice dinner, but little did we know we did NOT prepare ourselves for such a HORRIBLE dining experience. My party (7 of us) decided to sit outside on the dining patio since dinner did not start serving until 5PM. It was such a beautiful, late afternoon (weather wise). I would definitely recommend dining out there for the amazing view. Anyways, you would think our waitress would have treated us great since at this time it wasn’t busy at all – and we were a larger party; however, she barely came by to serve us. Our (alcoholic) drinks took forever to come out (and there was a bar was outside!). We ordered the lobster meatballs and calamari for apps. They were both disgusting. Our table couldn’t even eat the meatballs because they were SO bad, by looking at them, one couldn’t even tell that they had lobster in them. Also, the calamari was SO soggy, DEFINATELY was frozen. – there as absolutely NO crunch. Our waitress kindly comped the meatballs since they weren’t even touched; however, this was just the beginning. Since we never saw our waitress after our apps were cleared off, I had to get up and get the dinner menus that we asked for about 15 minutes prior to me going to look for some. After about another 15 minutes, our waitress STILL NEVER came back to us so we decided to go inside to eat, hoping for better service. We were seated at probably the worst table in the restaurant, a table that was right next to the door leading to the patio. Everyone kept bumping into our chairs, helping ruin our overall dining experience. Other than alcoholic drinks, our table order bottle after bottle of sparkling water. Since the glasses didn’t come with ice, my boyfriend’s father asked kindly for some to be brought out. It took asking 3 DIFFERENT PEOPLE for something as simple as ice to be brought to our table!!! We ended up placing our orders which were VERY simple (2 salads and 1 soup for starters and then 2 pasta dishes, 3 salmons, 2 salads, and 2 sides for entrees). The salads were good for starters; however, my soup was awful, the watermelon gazpacho. There were way too many herbs in it and they weren’t grinded enough, I barely touched it. Our starter plates stayed on the table until our dinner arrived, which was long after. Which by the way at this time, we also received the bread – finally, (HA!) as our dinner was being served. The chef messed up on 5/7 people’s orders at our table. It was ridiculous. 2/3 people’s salmon was NOT cooked thoroughly – NOTE: The SALMON is not “PAN SEARED” like the menu says. My meal was also screwed up and it ended up being the LAST dish to be brought out…and I had a SIMPLE SALAD! All said and done, we didn’t even want our food after all of the changes were made. We just wanted to get the heck out of there! The manager on duty listened to our issues and ended up comping the under cooked salmons; however, NONE of us will EVER be going back here again. It is such a shame because we have dined here many times in the past. I don’t know if they are under new management or a new CHEF????? Something definitely needs to be done because we heard the table next to us have an issue too and the manager comped something they had. As previously mentioned in my first post about Lago – I would recommend O’s Steak house for a more intimate and better experience.
