Let's start with the good. We were there for a wedding, and the service and cuisine for the wedding ceremony and reception were impeccable. The location is prime. The lake is across the street, and the view is lovely. The rooms, although small, are comfortable, and our bathtub was as well a whirlpool which enhanced the ambiance nicely. The grounds are landscaped beautifully, and much of Merideth is in walking distance. There is a great place across the street for one of the best lobster rolls in New England (more on that later).

Now...on to the rest of the story. The beginning was auspicious when we went to check in. I gave the front desk our reservation, she retrieved it, and proceeded to tell me that "the deposit of the one nights room had been charged to our credit card (and had been charged for 15 months!) but that we would need to leave and imprint of a credit card to insure that there were available funds". Understanding that we always leave a credit card imprint at check in, I am unfamiliar with being questioned if I a can pay for my stay?? Not a warm welcome.

We went on to have absolutely less than satisfactory encounters with two of the restaurants in the Mills Falls complex. Although the food was good throughout, the restaurants The Camp and Lago were both a total service disappointment. Our groups of 12-20+ were split into multiple groups in both restaurants, despite prior notice of reservations having had been made. As well painfully obvious that the staff was ill prepared for the influx of guests, resulting in long service waits.

Visit the Town Docks across the street for one of the BEST lobstah rolls around, Paul and his staff provide delicious goodies, along with exceptionally prompt and charming service. Enjoyed lunch there twice. Dylan was a superb server, as well was Brittney

An adequate stay overall at Mills Falls, I was expecting exceptional.

Room Tip: Be sure you are facing the lake!

Right across the street from Lake Winapasakee. Beautiful room that fit our family of five perfectly. Cheaper then their other properties. The road was a bit noisy. Balcony a bit narrow. No breakfast room service. Pool is lovely, but a five minute walk. Loved the room decor. My kid's loved the stay, we plan to return to Meredith

Just returned from a quick overnight here. I had been before and stayed in the Capt. Murphy Suite and this time did a king sized room with fireplace, sofa overlooking the lake. I personally preferred the king sized room to the suite. I could see the benefit of a suite with a family, but with just 2 people the king sized room, especially in winter with the fireplace, is amazing. It was so nice to relax on the sofa looking out at the ice fishermen and watching the fire. If you think you will spend time in the room (which we did after XC skiing), I highly recommend this place. Super cozy. This place is a true "inn". All staff members are super nice and accomodating, and I just really like the place. The bed was comfortable. If a big hot tub etc. in the room at your thing, this may not be the room for you though (I'm not really into that). The bathroom was nice, but the shower itself was a little bit dark (the curtains make it dark inside). That said, the overall coziness and ambience of the room far outweighed this and so this place comes very highly recommended!

Room Tip: I personally found the king with a fireplace super cozy for winter time.

I enjoyed everything about my stay . The room was clean and decorated tastefully . There was a great view of the lake from the room and a terrace . The gas fireplace made it even cozier . The location was perfect for walking to shopping and restaurants .
Used the pool and exercise room. Definitely will return.

Had a wonderful 2 night stay in October for our 25th anniversary! Although our one day for a foliage drive and hiking was very rainy and windy, the Mill Falls property was exactly what we had in mind. Our Chase House room was very nicely decorated and we appreciated the fireplace, the sitting area with a couch, and the balcony with a view of the lake. Loved the cozy lobby, the friendly staff, and the coffee to go in the lobby for my morning walk along the waterfront. The food at their restaurants was excellent: breakfast at the Waterfall Cafe and the Lakehouse, dinner at Lago and the Lakehouse. Relaxing in the rustic elegance of the Lakehouse lounge was a perfect ending to the day. Loved the use of birch trees in the architecture of the Lakehouse and other waterfront buildings, plus the craftsmanship through out, such as the stained glass hanging lights shaped like acorns. Hope to return someday when the weather is better.
