“Loved the views”
Reviewed 13 June 2017 for a stay in June 2017

Nice neat clean cottage. Jayne and Wayne were very accomodating. My husband asked Wayne for an anchor for the row boat and he dropped one off 5 minutes later. We both wish the fishing was better but other than that we had a great time. The view from the living room out to the lake is beautiful. Mother duck and 4 ducklings visited every night. Would definitely book again.

Thank you for sharing your vacation experience with other travelers. We are delighted to hear that you enjoyed our cottage and that you will book again. We have pulled a few big fish out of the lake ourselves over the years - sorry you did not have better luck:)! We look forward to seeing you next season.

“Our second year”
Reviewed 30 September 2016 for a stay in September 2016

This was our second year renting this property. We chose the week after labor day as most of the summer people had left. The weather was wonderful again. Not many boats on the lake this time of year so it seems like you have it to yourself. Though we did go out for lunch and dinner a few times, there was no need to. I would recommend this place for a family or 2 couples. Owners are close by but we only saw them when checking in and out.

“A Quiet Retreat”

We came up for a quiet week of relaxation and this house was the perfect place! And with a two year old it's hard to find some peace and quiet at times. But he enjoyed the nice yard and flat beach to play in. Every day he would grab his pail and run right to the water to play. We would certainly recommend this place to anyone who would like access to all that Lake Winnipesaukee has to offer but also wants a nice relaxing day on a quiet beach.

“Comfortable, peaceful and convenient”
Reviewed 19 July 2016 for a stay in July 2016

We spent a week at this property in early July. As a group of 4 adults (2 parents and 2 young adults) we had plenty of room to spread out and be comfortable in the house. The house is clean and more than adequate as a lakeside cottage, but the real magic of this property is the location. It is situated deep down a quiet gravel road and has a flat, soft grass covered yard leading down to a sandy beach with a dock. The time at the beach was very private and peaceful and with the windows open in the bedrooms, you will wake to the sound of birds in the morning. Despite the peaceful setting, it is a cinch to exit the quiet neighborhood and find hikes, bike rides, restaurants, museums, shops and other distractions in abundance. The owners were close by and were exceedingly helpful and detail oriented but were also careful to give you your space unless asked. Overall this met all of our expectations and delivered a fantastic week away.

“From a fisherman's perspective.”

Our group of four stayed for a week of fishing. The cottage was on a great spot on the lake in a protected cove. Launching close by with a short boat ride to the cottage. The cottage was off the beaten enough for privacy but close enough to stores if something was needed last minute. The owners were very friendly and accommodating. Respected your privacy but there if you needed them. If you need electric at the dock that was more then adequate, bring about 200 feet of cord. You will witness excellent sunsets during dinner or evening drinks.

Thanks for sharing your fishing experience at the lake with other fishermen and women. The springtime especially is popular for those desiring a quieter time on the lake and fishing is a very popular activity all summer long. We are working on making the electric a bit more convenient for charging your electric motors:). When your travels bring you back to Lake Winnipesaukee we hope you will stay with us!

“Wonderfully private lakefront retreat”

We had a wonderful week on the lake! The owners live next door, so we were greeted on arrival and given some helpful tips about navigating our boat into the private dock. The house was clean with comfortable beds, plenty of living space for sprawling out after an active day on the water, a great screened porch and a large and private yard and sandy beach perfect for viewing the beautiful sunsets. The bathroom is updated and the kitchen is well appointed with plenty of dishes, utensils and nice cookware (not the cheap aluminum stuff you often find in rentals). I was a little concerned about the fact that the house does not have A/C, but there are so many windows that allowed us to take advantage of the breezes off the lake that even on the two 90+ degree days we had during our stay, the house stayed comfortable and the cool evening temperatures made for great sleeping. The closest supermarket is about 10-15 minutes away in Meredith, but just a few miles down Moultonborough Neck Road is a great country store with everything you need. They make fabulous sandwiches and the butcher counter has quality meats. We grilled out on the gas grill several nights during our stay. I especially loved the early morning hours, sipping my coffee on the beach as the morning mist lifted off the water, hearing the calls of loons off in the distance and waving to the occasional kayaker or SUP'ER who were also enjoying the early morning sights and sounds.

As the owners of the property and lake lovers ourselves, it is so pleasing to hear that a guest enjoyed our property and loved the lake as much as we do!! Thank you for providing other travelers with a very detailed review. Your review will truly help other guests when choosing where to stay.

September is one of the best times on the Lake. Our fall rental fees are much lower than summer and a very good value!! The crowds disappear and the weather is many times summer like, as was the case this September with some of the warmest weather of the season during this guest's week:) There are usually just a handful of days and nights where A/C might be needed. Since the cottage is located on the "Big Lake" side of the Moultonboro Neck Rd it is common for us to have a nice breeze and as you experienced most nights cool down even after a hot day.

Glad your week was all that you expected. We hope to have you stay with us again in the future!
