Last minute research revealed this place and we were lucky that they had an open table for dinner. The meal was elegant, the chef entertaining, and we enjoyed a glorious, delicate, many course meal. Great hiking from the premises whether you want a long one over the network of well signposted trials or a short walk. Great kayaking with the Inn's boats around the lake. Many restaurant options are a short drive away.

Room Tip: Lake side has great views

We came to the lakes to relax and unwind and that is exactly what we did at this Inn.
So quiet and comfortable. Plenty to do in the area and on their grounds.
Had dinner at the Inn... Chef Brian's introduction to dinner was entertaining and the meal was delicious. Looking forward to a return trip soon. I highly recommend this Inn to others.

Room Tip: I would recommend the suites.

My wife and I with our family recently celebrated our 50th wedding anniversary at the inn. We have been there many times and chose this spot for our celebration because we knew that Linda and Brian and their staff would make it a memorable occasion. We were not disappointed! The evening exceeded our expectations from the outstanding to the impeccable service. There is no better dining experience in the New London area, so consider the Pleasant Lake Inn for your next special occasion or regular meal out. We will!

We spent one night at the Inn at Pleasant Lake while in the area visiting colleges and dear friends. I wish we could have stayed longer! The inn was charming and comfortable. The two room suite (#5) we had was just lovely and the bathroom nicely up-to-date. We had a wonderful breakfast with made-to-order omelettes, bacon, and potatoes as well as a nice cold buffet and muffins. The grounds of the Inn were immaculately maintained with beautiful flowers, shrubbery, and lawn. When I met Brian MacKenzie, the Owner and Executive Chef, I believe he said he had been outside working on the grounds himself! Every staff member we met was super nice and accommodating. We didn't have time to do water sports at the lake, but would have liked to. We would definitely like to come here again when we had a few days more! Highly recommended.

This is a outstanding place to stay, and the bonus is the outstanding dinner served by Chef Brian. The meal is without question the BEST meal we have all year (and we eat out twice a week in Boston, Chicago, San Francisco, etc). We plan our conference schedule so we can plan a few days at the Inn and a dinner. If you are celebrating a special occasion, looking for a few days away or coming to a Gordon Research Conference at Colby-Sawyer or Proctor Academy, the Inn is hands-down the place to stay. Very friendly staff, terrific breakfast, a relaxing living room and air conditioned porch, not to mention the only place to get a bottle of wine and relax after 9pm in this whole area. The lake is great - the kayaks and the stand-up paddleboards are fun and the lake is full of bass just waiting to be caught. The rooms are extremely comfortable and great for an afternoon nap. We truly treasure our week here in the summer and can't wait till we get to go again. Easy to see each room and book thru their website at http://innatpleasantlake.com .

Room Tip: On the website, it will say which rooms have a view or other amenities. We liked Room 9 as it had a...

My sister chose the Inn at Pleasant Lake for her fourth of July wedding, and it was so lovely. I'm a bit partial to the area as we used to summer here as kids, but this was my first time ever staying at the inn. It was lovely. It's quite small, and each of the rooms are unique. My only critique is that the rooms are a bit tired--rustic, yes, but could be updated a bit.

The staff at the inn did everything to make our stay (and my sister's wedding weekend) perfect. The setting is wonderful, and you can use the private beach on the lake, complete with kayaks and canoe. The lake, for me, is one of the most refreshing and relaxing places in the entire world.

The food at the inn is absolutely fantastic. Really top class. Honestly, the chef is a genius, and it was some of the best wedding food we have EVER eaten (all across the world). The filet mignon, although small portions, was absolutely delectable.

I would really recommend this inn and restaurant to anyone looking to get away from reality, but one warning is that you'll really be getting away--don't expect your cell phone to work ANYWHERE near the inn (although, they do have wi-fi!).

Room Tip: all the rooms are different--try to get one that overlooks the lake

This is one of our favorite places to stay in the Sunapee area. The inn is very well kept and tastefully furnished. The breakfast is very good and they also offer tea and snacks in the afternoon. The inn has fantastic lake access with a broad beach that it shares with a local condo community. There are canoes and kayaks etc. Our room was small but sufficient. It was very clean and the bed had a nice mattress.

The inn serves a fixed-price dinner evenings. Although we didn't eat at the inn because we had other plans, we did notice that the dining room was crowded and the menu looked terrific.

Because of the nice lake access it would be worth staying a few days to fully enjoy the place.

Room Tip: Avoid a room over the back door -- this is the designated smoking area for the inn.
