“Very, very tasty”
Reviewed 5 May 2012

The 7 pepper steak salad was very good. Wished there was some cucumbers, onions, etc, but still very good. The French fries had a delicious coating on them. The croutons on the Caesar salad was surprisingly good. This is coming from a woman who makes her own croutons! The porterhouse steak melted in your mouth like butter. Service was great, too!! Very attentive. Amazing how the same company owns the Bugaboo, too, because the Bugaboo does not compare to Longhorn!

“sit at the bar--they love you”
Reviewed 9 April 2012

As there was about 20 people waiting in the russian bread line that was the waiting area on a saturday night, the wife and I sat at the bar because we were hungry. The bartenders were courteous, and took our drink and food order right away. The TVs were set to some awesome sporting events. The bartenders were personable. Great steak and drink.

“very good meal”
Reviewed 27 February 2012

I ate there on a Sunday night. The place was about two thirds full but not loud at all. The dinner salad was big, fresh and cold. The bleu cheese dressing tasted homemade. The Flo's fillet was cooked right, was super tender and served hot and fast. The seasoned rice Pilaf was spicy and tasty. The service was fast too. Will definately return!

“Not impressed...gristly filet, ho-hum service...”
Reviewed 21 February 2011

We had a gift certificate and were looking forward to a good filet mignon and what we got was poor cuts and gristle. We didn't complain, just ate what we could. $56 for two poor cuts of filet? We won't be eating there again.

“Everything Was Perfect”
Reviewed 28 June 2009

Went to the Newington, NH location at 7 pm on a Saturday night. Had never been to a Longhorn's before. Had to wait for a two-person table for about 10 minutes. We reviewed the menu while we waited. To my surprise, rather than being thrown into some uncomfortable wood chairs at a small table in the middle of foot traffic, we were escorted to a cozy, soft-lit booth. Everything went just perfect from there.

The appetizers: We got French onion soup and the crispy chicken trio. Both were fabulous. The crispy chicken, which was tender and delicate, dipped in the sweet pepper sauce was an absolute revelation. The French onion soup was not just a cheap onion broth. Someone bothered to put some flavor in it., plenty of onions, plenty of bread. The cheese on top was flavorful and well textured.

And things just got better from there. The salad, the dressings, the entrees (prime rib on one side of the table, salmon on the other) were done just right. Nothing tasted cheap or seemed hastily prepared. The desserts were first rate. The brownie sundae was unbelievable.

The waiter was great, very accomodating and patient with my never-ending questions about the menu. Friendly. We got what we asked for the way we asked for it, always with a professional air. I can't compliment the service enough.

We've gone out to eat a LOT over the past few months, usually to the large, median priced chain restaurants. Most have been barely ok, while a few have been out-and-out disappointments. Longhorn Steakhouse easily trumps them all. There were two of us, and for $70, we left full, happy and with a doggy bag for at least one more meal each. This is the best time we've had eating out in a few years.
