“DELISH!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 24 March 2013

OK, to be fair, I've only been once, and got some treats to go, but it was delish! The restaurant is very cute, in a cool old stone building.

I got a BIG TREAT - ginger cheesecake with fresh blueberry compote.....wowza........the cheesecake was light and fluffy, and the CRUST was dense and wonderful. You could taste the ginger in every bite.

I also got some tomato soup to go.......it too was very tasty. The restaurant is run by a husband and wife team.....I met Matt, as he was working the counter, and he was super nice and personable.

The restaurant is so unique.......just like Newmarket!

“Small Restaurant, GREAT food!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 31 August 2012

Pao is one of the newest additions to the restaurant scene in downtown Newmarket, and is well worth checking out. Their facebook page lists specials (worth checking out before you go), but the Brazilian cheesebread is always there and always delicious! Another unique and refreshing flavor is their iced tea, made with frozen strawberries - it's fantastic, and try as I might, I've not been able to replicate it...

There's a nice (tiny) park to the left of the restaurant - a great place to eat outside on warm days!

Also, check out their web site for info on their menu before you visit: http://www.thepaocafe.com

“Promising Future”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 25 August 2012

Pao is located on Main Street in Newmarket, very near the intersection of Routes 108 and 152,
Pao is a new Brazilian bakery and cafe. Upon entering, your eyes are drawn to Pao's refrigerated desert case, filled with amazing looking deserts.

Pao specializes in a small type of Brazilian panini made with cheesebread, which Pao makes fresh. Pao offers these paninis in many different sandwich combinations. The paninis are small but inexpensive, with one being between $3.25 to $3.75. Pao offers a two panini combo or one panini and a soup for $6.25, or two paninis and a soup for $8.50. The cheesebread is delicious!

I also had a cup of coffee, which had a bold, rich flavor. They cold brew their coffee.

Pao is a nice addition to Newmarket's expanding restaurant scene.

Give it a try!
