“Great Friendly Inn with all you could want”
Reviewed 11 November 2012

Forest Glen Inn has everything you could want in a friendly Timeshare. The staff is very helpful and willing to make any local reservations or arrangements needed. It is only a short walk down the road to everything North Conway has to offer. The grounds are beautiful and very family oriented. There is great hiking in the Green Hills Puddin Pond Preserve within walking distance and skiing downhil or xcountry is close by.

Beautiful grounds and a super friendly staff. No time to use the pool or tennis courts, but the 2 indoor hot tubs were nice. Internet connection was sporadic in the rooms, but they offer a desktop for your use in the lobby. They offer bikes to use and it is only a short ride into downtown for shopping, or to just sit with a latte and people watch. The room was small, but clean and well equipped. Be advised that the studios have double-size Murphy beds and that may be too small for many folks. We purchased detergent at the front desk and really appreciated the free laundry room. The complimentary Saturday evening wine and cheese gathering was fun and the front desk staff provided information on local attractions and recommended several restaurants (don't miss the steak at Hooligan's). A nice place for couples and families.

Room Tip: Studios have double-size Murphy beds.

I've been an owner at Forest Glen for over 20 years. The Inn is located on a quiet dead end road but close enough to the village to walk to. It's always clean and quiet here, and close to the outlets as well. The views from the rooms we've stayed in are always scenic, overlooking night skiing from the back rooms or mountain sunset views from the front. We enjoy coming up for skiing in the winter mostly. It's close to Attitash for downhill and Jackson for XC and if you drive a bit further Bretton Woods has both.

We have a studio room which has a pull down murphy bed, and a fold out couch. Since there are only two of us we only use the bed which leaves plenty of room, and the kitchenette allows us to have breakfast in the room and bring home leftovers from dinner.

We've always enjoyed our stays at Forest Glen and highly reccommend it to skiers, hikers and families vacationing in the White Mountains.

Room Tip: second floor rooms are less noisy as there's nobody above you. If you like more room and don'...

Forest Glen is a short walk to North Conway's main street restaurants, shops and events, but the inn is serenely nestled into beautifully landscaped grounds away from busy traffic. The units, inn and grounds are extremely well maintained and clean, and every staff member bends over backwards to ensure that you are having a great time. The hospitality and attention to detail, and no extra charges for anything at the resort, are part of what makes this timeshare resort the best kept secret in the area. The updated units are also available for rent, and have every amenity of home, including a fully equipped kitchen and free phone with North America long distance and wifi. We have traded to 9 different NH timeshares and this tops them all for location, cleanliness, hospitality and convenience.
Saturday night was a complimentary wine and cheese welcome party, staff were great about answering questions and sharing tourist info, they listed a variety of daily restaurant specials in town, offered free tennis and basketball sports equipment, bicycles, a great selection of DVDs, games, books, puzzles and magazines. Outside, there were basketball and tennis courts, a nicely landscaped swimming pool, children's playground, picnic area and BBQs with charcoal included.
The indoor games area had billiard, ping pong and free high efficiency front load laundry room We were there in mid Sept and had beautiful sunny days and cool nights, but this is clearly a popular summer resort and also a great ski destination. There are ski storage areas and large lounges with fireplaces plus indoor hot tubs for relaxing.

Room Tip: Corner units have extra windows, back units may be quieter.

I had booked a week for my family of six in a one-bedroom suite at Forest Glen as an exchange week for a timeshare I had banked...

With a family of two adults and four kids (13,6 and twin 4 year-old boys,) we generally need a serious amount of space to not go out of our minds...also, one of our boys has some challenges, making him occasionally noiser than an average kid, so we're careful about where we stay, generally renting condos or something similar and avoiding hotel rooms at all costs.

I had booked a room here, but then got nervous reading reviews elsewhere that said noise was heard from room to room, place was small, decor was old, etc. We went anyway, reluctance and all. (I should note here that we go to the North Conway area yearly, usually staying across from Storyland at a rented condo, so this was also a geographic shift from our usual location in the area...)

On to the trip...we pulled up and I fell in love immediately. End of a dead-road just outside of the Center, nicely kept grounds, fully enclosed pool area, small playground outside. When we got in, the staff was incredibly friendly, taking the time to go over everything with us in incredible detail. The decor was dated, but the place was PERFECT for our kids - books, toys, games and movies available for the borrowing and loaded with other kids.

Perhaps the thing I noticed the most were the amount of guests that had come back year after year after year to the same room for the same week, so there was a great feeling of community there as well. One lady we became friendly with had come up to their unit every year since she was a kid and now returned to that same unit for the same week with her 6 year-old! I felt comfortable enough to let my kids run around with other kids, something I would NEVER consider just about anywhere else.

The room itself, although only a one-bedroom was plenty big for us. There were two Queens in the bedroom and a pull-out sofa in the living room, so we slept comfortably enough....two FULL baths handled us perfectly and the small kitchenette (though smaller than I generally prefer,) was perfect for a week-long stay.

Add to all of this a nicely kept pool, immaculate grounds, free laundry facilities and a spot right near North Conway center and you have what we now call the only place we will ever stay up in that area again...

Room Tip: Again, the largest rooms available (one bedroom) slept all six of us comfortably and the unexpected...
