After doing extensive research before choosing this hotel more than 6 months ago based on the hotel's website info and pictures, and reviews on Trip Advisor, we were disappointed in our room. It seems that maintenance is lacking in our room as the bathroom door knob was broken, the heater didn't work, the towel rack fell off the wall, the bathroom lampshades were cracked, paint was peeling on the back of the bathroom door. Every time our neighbor closed their door our door rattled.

What you can't tell from the website pictures is how worn the wood furniture is. The website pictures make it look like it's in great condition but ours was not. We chose a "cliff view" when we made our reservation online. What you're not told is that "cliff view" is also "parking lot view."

While the hotel is more outdated than we expected, that would have been OK if the owners had chosen to put some maintenance efforts into the room. I think the room is terribly overpriced ($200+/night) for what you get!!

The continental breakfast is nothing great -- plus you have to pay a $1.50 "tip" per person for the pleasure of having the waitress being you juice -- which the website never mentions when it talks about their complimentary breakfast.

All that being said, the bed was comfortable and the shower fine, although the bathroom counter is made for a midget. The wi-fi worked well.

The best thing about the hotel is that it's located in a quiet location no where near the busy main drag.

We spent four days in the hotel, lovely staff and atmosphere. The Hotel is located in a beautiful
area. A visit to Diana's Baths, Mount Washington and Flume Gorge a must see.

The restaurant in the hotel was outstanding the quality of the food was brilliant. We decided to eat there every night. My partner and i will definitely return to this hotel.

Room Tip: A room overlooking the mountains at the front of hotel is better than the back facing the car park.

We loved this hotel! The rooms were great (the vanities in the bathroom are strangely very low) but everything else was delightful. The view from the dining room is delightful - food and wait staff great. We like to hike and the trailhead from the parking lot to the ledge trail very convenient. At the top of the ledge, you look down on the hotel and the lake! You can also walk to the lake - leisurely 1 mile lake loop.

Room Tip: The lake side seems to be better than the ledge view - as you are too low to see anything on the ledge side.

This was the first time my family and I stayed here. We loved it. The food, cleanliness of the room, and service was great. The setting in which the hotel is located is gorgeous...surrounded by beautiful mountain views; it's breathtaking. My kids throughly enjoyed the game room, fire pit (think smores), and outdoor heated pool. One could easily stay at the hotel for hours with lots to do. We ABSOLUTELY will stay again. Thanks to the staff for making our stay so enjoyable and relaxing.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a mountain view.
