“Mouthwatering meals”
Reviewed 26 October 2013

Whiete Mountain resort sits in the shelter of the Cathedral Ledges and is a little old fashioned but quaint. The rooms were a little dated but still spacious and spotlessly clean. Service was excellent, especially in the restaurant, which is circular and has super views of the surrounding mountains. We stayed for three nights and, if we'd stayed much longer, it would have taken a week to work off the food! The a la carte menu offers great choice and is excellent value for money. Breakfast provided the leisurely start to the day that vacations need; and the cocktails the perfect end.

Room Tip: Higher rooms (third floor) seemed to be quieter.

We spent a long weekend at the a White Mountain Resort for a wedding & exploring the town as a couple. The hotel sits below the Cathedral Ledges and it was a perfect fall weekend. The staff was generally friendly & happy to accommodate requests. Chris, in the bar, made great cocktails! Room service was fast & tasty. The facilities were (below) average - lots of wear, tear & outdated decor. For the price, We'd probably look into other options for any return trips. The Moat Restaurant is a MUST in No. Conway!!!

I appreciate your review and was happy to read that you enjoyed your stay and the services of Christopher at our bar. I will make certain that these comments are shared with his manager. I am sorry that you did not enjoy the decor and want to ensure you that we work diligently to keep the decor fresh and updated. Our new ballroom renovation and new bedding concept with high-thread count sheets, triple sheeting, luxury mattresses and pillows, certainly reflects this commitment. I appreciate your feedback, and do hope that you will give us another chance. Regards, Carol Sullivan

Even though this is an old hotel, they have kept it as up to date as possible and made for very grand lodging. Actually the restaurant is the best part! Fantastic meals served in elegant style. Rooms are adequate, but not too small. However, bathrooms are quite large for this era of hotel. Very nicely appointed. Clean, comfortable, and quiet -- except do NOT get a room near the kitchen. Fans and smell of kitchen intrude into room. Unfortunately the kitchen side is where the best views are, so just get a room further away -- above X20, e.g., 220, 320. Nicely heated pool and Jacuzzi. Large exercise room.

Stayed at this otherwise lovely hotel as part of a tour group. We had the misfortune to be given room 202, which is situated immediately above two large fan vents from the kitchen.
The noise was very intrusive. We phoned the desk to ask about what it was and it was explained that the fans would be turned off round 10pm and on again at 7am, that management was aware of the problem and that they 'were working on it'.
Fans were duly turned off about 10.30pm and on again at 4.50am.
If you stay at this hotel do not accept room 202 unless you are an extremely sound sleeper!

Room Tip: Avoid room 202 and any others near the kitchen vents.

We stayed here one night recently. The staff were very good with no door man to help unload or load luggage. Surprised since this is an upscale inn. The check in was fine and the room had a great view of the mountains to the east. We had dinner in the main restaurant. The hamburger I ordered was supposed to be medium well but was over cooked and burnt around the edges so that I threw most of it away. The waitress did not ask. The sweet potato fries were cut too small and lost most of their flavor. Threw most of them away as well. The continental breakfast was included with the room but a gratuity was added of a $1.50 per person. We had a drink in front of roaring fireplace in the main lobby. Very comfortable chairs to set while enjoying the fireplace. The room was well appointed and clean. The AC/heating unit was very dusty inside the control panel and the behind the face plate which houses the air filter. Expected better for nearly $300 a night.

Room Tip: Some rooms have 2 double beds and others have a king bed. Limited number of rooms with king beds th...

Great hotel. In lovely location with great views. Some people may not like the fact that some rooms face a cliff but it is quite spectacular and we loved it.rooms are large, clean and comfortable. Dinner is served in a pleasant restaurant or one can have the same menu served in the less formal lounge area. Service was good. Breakfast is served rather than buffet style. The pancakes here were the best we had in our entire trip to USA. Light , fluffy and tasty. Would recommend it.

I just got married here. As soon as I walked into the hotel, they ALL knew who I was and kept asking if I needed anything. Thanks to the staff - Dennis, Andrea, Topher and everyone else (who's names I can't recall), my wedding and wedding weekend went off without a hitch!

The food was superb, the room - a suite - was awesome and the views - amazing! I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone who asks.
