“Low quality hotel”
Reviewed 13 January 2014 via mobile

On the surface the hotel appears to be top notch. Nice exterior and interior as well as adequate parking. The hotel has a pool but every night it was jammed with no less than 50 people. The breakfast was below average continental and the complimentary coffee served throughout the day was average or below. If you like Starbucks, just drive two minutes to buy proper coffee. As for the rooms, also on the surface they look ok. Standard furniture and above average beds. Our room had a mini kitchen which was convenient. That is it for the semi positives.

DONT STAY IN THIS HOTEL. It is way overpriced for the quality of room and service. After staying one night, it becomes apparent that the entire hotel was constructed quickly and cheaply. The walls are paper thin and the ceilings/floors even more so. We could hear everything from the rooms adjacent and below. We complained three times on the noise until it finally died down around 11pm. Also our room was neglected to be cleaned on two days and on the third day, we came home at about 3pm after being out of hotel for most of the day and the cleaning lady had just started the room. So make that 3 days, housekeeping did not clean. On the first evening when we had all the noise, We left a message for the manager to contact us be we did not hear from the manager until we actually approached him on the last day. Finally on the last day, we met the manager but only when we approached him. He came up with a story that they lost the message but it was not very convincing. He agreed to knock 50$ off my last night. He did not appear overly concerned with the terrible customer service. My assumption, this hotel will continue to do ok because a lot of folks are loyal to marriott rewards. I have probably stayed in 40 residence inns before and this was the worst. I don't recommend. If your going to North Conway, skip the marriott rewards this one time and stay at one of the hotels like the Grand, red jacket, or Fox Ridge.

Clean, great staff, easy check in/out, decent breakfast onsite, plenty of parking. This was our 5th stay.
The pool is a little small but you will be too tired to really swim anyways. So much to do in area.

My family just spent 3 nights at this hotel (2 adults, 2 teens), and we had a lovely time. I didn't realize how many hotels are in North Conway, but I'm still glad we chose to stay here. The front desk staff were very friendly and helpful. Peggy and Jim catered to our every need each morning at breakfast - they were lovely! Management put out cookies, popcorn and nachos on our first night (I think it was movie night). The pool/hot tub were crowded when we were there so we didn't use them; the fitness room is right next door and very small, but has adequate equipment if you need to exercise indoors. Coin laundry facilities are on site. Four of us stayed in a 1br suite, and spatially it was fine. There was even a fireplace in our living room as well as an outdoor fireplace to sit around. Housekeeping was the only snafu of our trip (but when I brought it up to the GM, he responded immediately). The property is proximal to the quainter part of North Conway as well as to the outlets. We skied at Attitash our first day and Cranmore our second day - both an easy drive away. I would go back and stay here.

Room Tip: We stayed on the fourth floor, away from the noise of the dining area and pool.

We enjoyed our 4 night stay. The staff was friendly and the weeknight receptions/light meals were nice, along with the full breakfasts. Even with the crowds, they kept the food full and fresh. Only complaint is really not the hotel's fault. We were on the first floor and surrounded by the noisiest, most inconsiderate people (loud music, loud kids, loud pets, stomping on the floor above us all night). One even brought their dog and locked the poor thing in the room all night while they went out and the poor thing barked and barked. I called the front desk to complain and they said they would see if they could get a hold of the guests. They may have, because about 30 min later the dog finally got quiet. We would stay again, but request a room on the top floor for sure. Too much noise on the first floor.

Room Tip: You MUST get a room on the top floor to avoid the noise of the first floor.

We stayed for two nights at the Residence Inn in North Conway for a little post Black Friday shopping trip. We stayed on Sunday and Monday nights right after Thanksgiving weekend. We had not stayed in North Conway in many years so I spent some time researching various hotels and Bed and Breakfasts. We wanted a pool, hot tub and fitness room so we settled on a hotel rather than a B & B. The Residence Inn was perfect in every way. All the rooms have full kitchens and are stocked with dishes etc. to prepare simple meals. Residence Inn also serves a very nice hot complimentary breakfast in the spacious hotel lobby, beautifully decorated for Christmas and with a two-sided fireplace - nice ambiance. The king two room suite was very clean and the bed super comfortable and excellent value for money. The hotel also offers receptions and light suppers during the week. We returned from shopping on Monday to find a manager's reception with complimentary wine beer, cheese, crackers, appetizers, etc. The staff were extremely pleasant and helpful. Absolutely the best place to stay and great value in North Conway. Very close to the outlets at Settler's Green.

We've stayed at this Residence Inn at least twice before and we had very good experience staying there. However, this time around, not so good. I made reservations on the phone with Charlotte for 2 nights the week before Christmas 2013, with Senior rate and 2 queen beds near the elevator, and also requested (if possible), an early check in. We arrived around mid day and there was a major issue finding us a room to my liking.

After almost a 1/2 hour journey up/down the elevator to check 2 rooms, I advised Charlotte that the rooms she let me check were NOT to my liking. She suggested we go out for a while and come back later to better facilitate our needs.

We come back later to a nice room right around the corner from the elevator as we requested. However, the climate control would only blow out COLD air, and the LCD thermostat was set on 75F*! This gave me a bad feeling. It was already late in the evening when we finally settled in and discovered the heating issue.

To keep this from being a darned novel...they gave us a free upgrade to a suite w/fireplace. Well, they had their Maintenance Technician Louise help us with our luggage bringing it 10 rooms to the opposite end of the floor. The heater in this new room still didn't work right and the fireplace was on a 1/2 hour timer. After Louise got us a space heater to help us, we called it a night. Neither 1 of us slept much at all both nights due to defective heating in the room.

We never had this issue in our prior visit here, but apparently things changed during the past 4 years. Also, the breakfast during our 1st morning, the food was cold, and they have NI mic in the breakfast area to heat food-go figure. So we had breakfast at the muffin place next door the following morning, and their food was HOT/DELISCIOUS.

Also, their Cable TV has a Maine TV station for local news, which sucks. Some channels were also not working and the girl at the lobby counter had to call the rep to fix that issue remotely. I also noticed that their TV's ALL seem to start up with CNN and the sound blasting LOUD, always had to turn the sound down after powering up again.

Thanks to Charlotte, Louise, Molly and the elder lady in the breakfast area for their efforts and kindness.

Due to the lack of a properly working climate control system in their rooms at present, we likely WON'T be back here, which is sad because our 2 prior stays here went without a hitch.

I would also be remiss if I didn't mention that this Residence Inn is quite beautifully dressed out for the Christmas season in the front lobby.

Room Tip: Ask to see a room before checking in and make sure the heat/ac is working properly for the season yo...
