“Picturesque ride”
Reviewed 4 July 2014 via mobile

This farm is quaint and very well tended. The owners and farmhands are very much in tuned to every horse on the farm. I love how they hand pick each horse for each rider making it an enjoyable experience. The ride is very scenic from mountains to rivers and green pastures. I disagree with the last review "just average"....The reviewer was disappointed that the owners stayed on property...why wouldn't they??..The property itself is 70 acres.. I am an experienced rider and was raised with horses. In my opinion and the opinion of my teenagers this was an all around great experience!

“Average Experience”
Reviewed 3 July 2014 via mobile

Pluses:
- this farm owns their own horses and it shows. We had the first trip out on a hot day and they were cancelling afternoon rides for concern of the animals.
- the staff was attentive and helpful. At one point, my daughters saddle was loose and it was immediately tightened.

Minuses:
- we appeared to stay on property for the entire ride - it was largely featureless. Much of the time traveling thru their fields with a bit of time near the river.
- farm by the river means the property is adjacent to the river, not that the house is on the river.
- typical tourist nose to tail format without variance

We are glad you appreciate the fact that we take good care of our horses and you thought the guides were attentive- it provides for a safe and positive experience. Yes the ride is on our property and the ride takes one through meadows and forest and along the Saco River. The loop allow you to see 9 miles of the Moat Mountain Range, Mt.Cranmore and Mt. Kearsarge, the Snake Range and Cathedral and White Horse Ledges- famous for climbing.

“Our Daughter's First Pony Ride!”
Reviewed 28 May 2014

We recently happened upon Farm by the River on a visit to N Conway. Our 4 year old daughter wanted to ride a pony; the people there were so unbelievably accommodating and nice…going out of their way so that we could have a memorable experience! They introduced us to all of the horses, encouraging us to wait for a group to come back from a ride so that she could see other kids riding…upon leaving they gave us a big bouquet of lilacs that they picked off of their tree as they had seen us smelling them. What a pleasure! We will definitely go back. Thanks so much, Joanna Alberto and Leni

“winter sleigh ride”
Reviewed 23 March 2014

The ride was amazing, just enough snow, not freezing, we called and they accommodated our time for the ride. The woman and girl were very friendly, spent some time telling us about the farm and the horses. We learned the history of the place. The horses are VERY well cared for, we walked through the stables and met a few while the staff got the sleigh ready. The property is beautiful, evergreens and open fields and mountain views. Breathtaking. So quiet you can hear a pin drop. Very New England picture postcard. Off the path but easy to find once you know where it is in Conway. Land borders Saco river. Bob our horse is big beautiful and well tempered. We plan to go back again as we spend some time in Conway area and had such a great time

“Sleigh Ride”
Reviewed 22 March 2014 via mobile

Just returned from an amazing sleigh ride given by Farm by the River. It was a picture perfect day in that the day was cold with light flurries. The property is beautiful. The owners were very welcoming as were the other staff we met there today. Sarah was our guide and was very friendly and knowledgable. Our horse was Robert(Bob) and he gave a great ride. We will definitely come back in the summer to horseback ride.
