Very nice atmosphere. Was here for my wife's birthday. Food was excellent. Denise was a wonderful waitress and very friendly. Would highly recommend the prime rib and tiramisu. Beautiful surroundings and nice views. Hotel looks very inviting.

My husband and I have stayed at Stonehurst Manor several times and we have never had a complaint. We usually stay in the manor house with a fireplace and/or jacuzzi, but we weren't able to find a room we liked despite making the reservation in August. That should tell you something right there...this place is very desirable. We stayed in the mountain wing for the first time and found the room comfortable and spacious with a sitting area. I was able to crack the window that had a screen despite what an earlier post said. Our waiter the first night I think his name was Scott ( he was a tall, slim young man) was knowledgeable, informing us about the specials and soup of the day. He was extremely efficient and very attentive despite the busy evening. Dragan (loved his accent) was our breakfast waiter each morning and he, too, was very attentive. It was so busy at breakfast that I told him they needed a busboy. He and the waitress were running around like crazy trying to set up tables for entering guests and still managed to keep our coffee cups full. Both waiters were very professional and the service was great. We loved the appetizers Saturday evening. Can't wait to go back!

We take an annual trip each year to Stonehurst and this year was no different. The staff is amazing and so accomodating. From checkin to checkout. Lisa at breakfast is so pleasant and has a smile on her face the minute she sees you. How she remembers what our preferences are year to year is amazing. Michael the bartender will do anything to make your drink the way you like it. Heidi and staff we cannot say enough. Food as good if not better everytime we go. If you want to take a getaway and just relax and do what you want. This is the place to go. Plenty to do in the area from shopping to hiking and walking and in the winter snowshoe right out their back door (or cross country ski). Thank you again for a wonderful stay.

Room Tip: All rooms are great. You can view each room and description on line and the pictures are true to the room.

I feared there would be one -- a catch. A reasonably priced inn that also includes dinner and breakfast? Surely the food must be skimpy or not that great, right? Well I'm here to tell you the food is great and this place is every bit the deal it seems to be. Their signature dish (and they have many good entree options, eg lamb, lobster, pizza, salmon etc. etc.) is prime rib. I'd read some reviews by people who raved about it and a few by people who were disappointed. Our first night we both had it and found it was good. Not life-changing, but good. The second night I got the lamb (also great) and my girlfriend ordered the prime rib again. This time it was SUBLIME. Cut-with-a-fork-tender, juicy, thick, with a smoky taste...absolutely perfect. So, yeah, it's possible to not always get their best, but that's true of any restaurant. And it must be said the prime rib the first night, while not sublime, was still good. Good enough that one of us ordered it again. On top of the dinner and breakfast the inn also has a cozy bar, with fireplace going nonstop, where they hand out free appetizers for an hour each night. The rooms have jacuzzi baths and, some, their own fireplaces. I honestly can't imagine staying anywhere else in North Conway with all this inn has going for it. My only complaint is one I could level at the majority of hotels and inns that advertise "free wifi." If it takes 10 minutes to open the New York Times website, or you have to leave your room to do it...then you don't really offer wifi. Either pull the plug and stop pretending, or spend a few hundred dollars to actually make it work. It's not that hard. Internet can be run through the electric wires or signal boosters can be placed around the inn. But this is not a huge complaint. I knew very well before I got there that I really wasn't going to be surfing the web or "working" while at the inn and neither, probably, will you. And actually as long as I'm complaining there was one other thing: $24 for a glass of Lagavulin scotch?! They don't charge that much in Manhattan. That's a bit over the top. Still, I'd go to this inn again and hope I can soon.

Room Tip: splurge on one with fireplace if you can afford it. Or find one available.

Over the years we have stayed at Stonehurst Manor so many times I have lost count, but it is at least eight. We always enjoy our stay more than words can express. The room rates have remained reasonable all of that time, hardly changing at all. The rooms in the mountain view wing where we always stay have been around for many, many years, but are clean and very comfortable... the floors squeak a bit too much but that is all part of the charm of the place. This year they added in a manager’s cocktail hour before dinner that we loved, and John the bartender was super. The star attraction is the Manor's fantastic dining and excellent wait staff. Every room comes with a full dinner and breakfast. The menu is one of the best and varied we have seen, and Chris the chef even gave us one of his recipes. Lisa (with a capitol L - hi Lisa) was our waitress for breakfast. We never wanted for anything ... coffee refills and condiments ... you name it. And it was good to catch up with her and her news about her grandchildren. She has been there for us every visit...we almost feel like part of her family. If you are looking for a relaxing stay, with good food, good spirits, and good company, this is the place.
