The Yankee Clipper Inn

First the good points. I'm grateful the Yankee Clipper allowed a one-night stay on Columbus Day weekend. The front desk clerk was very nice, the room was clean and there was good shower pressure and nice hot water. Other than that, I have to say that I was extremely disappointed. The lamp on the night table between the beds either didn't work or blinked on and off because the socket was damaged. The bathroom light for the toilet and sink area was completely non-functional. The covering for the floor heat fell off. But the worst part is that there was no Internet access in the room. The hotel states that it has DSL. What they don't tell you is that it's only in the lobby! False advertising. The place is in need of a major refresh.

An aging motel. Our room, numbered 114, developed an overpoweringly stench several times during the night, waking us up and keeping us up for about 30 minutes until the smell dissipated. Parking lot lights were not totally blocked at night by the curtains.

Knew about this place, from driving by in the past. Have been to the Restaurant they have attached (The Blueberry Muffin), which is the ONLY thing they have thats good for them, this breakfast place, is the GREATEST.......the motel???? SUCKS, we had a room with 2 double beds, I hate a bed made without a fitted sheet, cause I am a restless sleeper, and I kick around alot, so needless to say, the bottom sheet, kept coming off. The bathrrom, there were several places in the small bathroom, that had mildue, which is gross, when you would put the shower on, for some strange reason, the water would go up, and come out through the ceiling, it was really odd and strange. We found NOT ONE clock in the room at all, NOT ONE, it was a brief 2 nights stay, we just used the room for sleeping, but NEVER AGAIN, and would NOT recommend it to anyone

Feb, vacation 5 day stay 2008
Our family rented 5 rooms, a total of 17. people stayed at the yankee clipper for the first time, and at a time when they had received the most snow. We had a wonderful stay. The staff and manager were very nice. The rooms were warm and clean. We got free breakfast and they even had a pool and hot tub.We had a great time relaxing after a day at the slopes. I would recommend anyone looking for value and great ammenities to stay here at the Yankee Clipper. We are looking forward to staying again this Feb. when we go back snowboarding.

I was camping with my family and we went to town to rent a room to escape our leaky tent. We had had breakfast at the restaurant before, and since it came with "breakfast included" we gave it a try. Breakfast included was $3.29 off for 2 people. Give me a break! The only good thing I can say is that the roof didn't leak, although I would have stayed in my wet tent if I knew better. The beds were made with flat sheets folded over stained mattresses, mini fridge hasn't been cleaned, bathroom was downright dirty, toiet didn't flush unless you held the handle down. Every surface in our "non smoking" room had burns on them, and I couldn't believe that the threadbare towels had the Inn's initials written on them in black marker. As if someone would actually steal them. Overall, the staff was very nice, but the Inn itself was outdated and filthy.

We were on a mini road trip vacation of the North East. As we were before the season start there were vacancy signs up and down the North Conway strip, but at a friends recommendation and the posted $59 sign outside we pulled in to book a room for the night. payed the lady at the counter and went up to see and use the facility. The receptionist had warned us that room might not be made up yet from the previous tenants, but that could not have warned us of what to expect.
Now i know not to expect the Ritz for that kind of money, but the room was so small that you could not fall out of the double bed because it was so small. The early 1970's decor well worn beyond useful service life. The carpeting was...well, we didn't take our shoes off.
Our room overlooked (10ft) the side of the pool house with the not so quite A/C unit right underneath it. Although outside it was cool to brisk it was so hot in our closet (as we nicknamed it) we had to run the A/C all night.
Advice, spend a few more bucks elsewhere and actually enjoy the stay.
