May Kelly's is a friendly place, popular with the locals. Its vision of Ireland is about 50 years out of date giving it a quaint air. The food is good so it is worth a visit.

Stopped here for dinner with the family during our North Conway vacation. It was fantastic! I had the Beef Stew, which was one of the best I have ever had - no kidding. My wife had the Irish Sampler - (from the appetizer menu) for dinner, it was plenty, with some leftover. It has a very cool atmosphere with a lot of collectibles and signs everywhere inside. May, the owner even took the time to talk to us and make sure we enjoyed dinner. Our 7 year old daughter had fun listening to her talking with the Irish accent. May Kelly's will definitely be on our list of must stops.

We stopped in here because it had great reviews on Trip Advisor and Yelp. The food was wonderful, from salads to traditional Irish food to dessert, and the service was great. I loved the view from the back patio.

However, what set this place apart was the kindness of the owner. We had only arrived in the area about an hour earlier. We had a group aged 2 - 60, and though we had yet to do grocery shopping for the rental house, we were hungry. We left the restaurant at about 9:30pm after dinner. My mother asked the owner (not sure if she was indeed May Kelly, or if that is just the name of the restaurant) where we could find a store to purchase just cream for coffee and milk for the 2-year old twins' breakfast. Rather than give directions to a store, she marched into the kitchen and brought my mom a gallon of milk and a bag of cream. She refused to take payment, and would not take "no, thank you" as an answer. Who knew such kindness still existed?

It was a wonderful experience, and lunch the next day was also excellent. I'd recommend May Kelly's any time!

We unknowingly were fortunate to have dinner here while they were having a Celtic music session which made the atmosphere more authentic and pleasurable. The owner is a collector of memorablia of every conceivable variety giving the wood paneled ceilings and rooms the air of a museum. The experience was worthwhile. The food was reminiscent of old Ireland with Shepard's pie, bacon wrapped meatloaf, potato cakes, etc.. A very extensive list of whiskeys and beers is available. The grilled peach, bacon and walnut/spinach salad was very generous but there were only 1.5 walnuts and very few bacon bits in it. The Ploughman's dinner platter of an 8 oz thin steak, very tasty but a bit overcooked, baked beans and large Irish potato cake (a croquette,) a bit lacking of the promised chives in the mashed potato filling, and too sweet brown bread for 18.95 were more than filling. An excellent wheat bread was also served. Service was friendly but a bit harried on a crowded night. There is a large bar with tables in addition to several other rooms all crowded with the owner's collectibles on the walls and cabinets in every conceivable space with tables also in every available place. This is a fun place to visit but the food is average.
