My hubby and i stayed for one night at this lovely place. The inn keeper was very gracious and accomodating. He upgraded us to the largest room , the Hollywood Room with no extra charge ,because the fireplace in the room we booked wasn't working. The room was very lovely, and clean, and had a nice fire place ,which we loved having. The breakfast was very nice . We will be back again maybe in the Summer .

My husband and I stayed for 2 nights. We were greeted by the Inn keeper's dog, Brodie. He was very friendly. When we arrived, we were shown the table by the entrance that offered wine, teas and coffee. This was available during the entire stay. We were then shown the dining area which was cozy and held around 6 or 7 tables for 2 which were nicely decorated with flowers or lamps and white table clothes. The living room is warm and inviting which bound floor to ceiling with an array of books and reading material. There was also a pellet stove - which was not on - wasn't cold enough for it. The Hippy room did not have a "hippy" vibe that we expected with that name The room fit two people comfortable. The was surprisingly comfortable and the blankets were enough. Any colder, another blanket would be needed. The walls of the bedrooms were thin and could hear what the other guests were saying. The bathroom was adequate. The wall next to the sink had toothpaste from previous guests. Under the bed was VERY dusty with a collection of dog fur. We have two dogs so Brodie did not bother us at all nor did the dog fur. The towels in the bathroom were musty - as in maybe left in the wash too long before moved over to the dryer. Other than those two things, the rest of the room and house were clean. For breakfast, the food was gourmet choices. We enjoyed the food and had no problems with food allergies, although we were never asked if we had any. Brodie would move from one guest to another pining for a bite to eat. Again, this did not bother us where we have dogs. People who do not may want to consider this before they book. I would go back. Parking was VERY tight. There were 6 spots in the driveway and two on the yard a few yards from the door. Rob was very pleasant and I would recommend staying here.

Room Tip: If you want room to sit and talk, make sure to book a bigger room. Hippy is too small to hang out in...

We landed at the Red Elephant Inn after a booking error at another B&B near-by. The owner of the establishment where we were not able to stay graciously arranged for us to be at the Red Elephant. Thank you!
We absolutely loved the Red Elephant. Rob was so helpful in suggesting activities and adventures, always close by but never hovering. Rob is very very good at what he does. The breakfasts, fireplace in our room, the little extras all come together to deliver a most memorable escape.
The best part: Ask Rob to tell you the captivating story of how the Red Elephant got its name.

Room Tip: New York room is the largest. Fabulous view to the mountains to the west.

Generally enjoying diffident bell-hops and concierges.as well as breakfast in bed.I have heretofore shunned the "fear" of what I perceived as B &B lifestyle,I.e. dealing with "strangers" in their own homes. After several half-hearted attempts imagine my great joy and surprise after our one night stay at The Red Elephant. From the warm, genuine and welcome to our departure, all worked like a fine Swiss clock.Spacious, elegant and modern accommodations, unexpected amenities ( help yourself bottle of fine wine), to fantastic home-made breakfasts, everything was superb.Rob is a great host- friendly, helpful and accommodating. If you enjoy the genuine in a warm ( but not overly in your face) and cozy atmosphere, your only destination in North Conway,NH should be the The Red Elephant Inn.Garry.

We loved our visit in the Red Elephant. Room was a great size, the breakfasts were EXCELLENT. The host was delightful, friendly, helpful, good natured and energetic. There was a quiet sitting area, plus a small porch on the side to watch the sun go down.

So much to see and do in the North Conway area. The host has suggestions, knew the area very well! Will go back whenever we have the opportunity!

We stayed for 6 nights in October and Rob and his very able assistant Brodie made us very welcome and couldn't help enough with day trips and trails to walk. Having a veggie wife isn't always easy, especially in the US but we had a different 3 course breakfast every day with a different veggie choice for wifey. Fresh made muffins, fresh fruit and interesting main dishes eg french toast with orange sauce - delicious! The wine, chocolate, popcorn, coffee, tea and more in the hallway to help yourself to was a nice touch. The room (hollywood) was very nice and way above the standard I would expect in a B&B.
A great place to use as a base for the North Conway/White Mountains area.
