“Great location”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 8 August 2014 via mobile

Pros: great location, walking distance to outlets, grocery store and restaurants (Mexican restaurant next door fabulous). Nice breakfast, very friendly staff and family atmosphere. Outdoor pool great. Stayed 2 nights, never drove anywhere whole time!

Cons: no fridge in room, poor lighting in room and noisy air conditioner.

Overall had great time. Will definitely return!

It was perfect for family. Stay in the back, it is better if you have younger kids so they can walk around out back on the patio as opposed to going out into the parking lot. The lodge was great, very comfortable to hang out in. Clean, simple and comfortable rooms.

My family and I stayed recently at the Green Granite at the suggestion of a friend who had stayed there in the past. I agreed with him the minute we walked into the lobby. The hotel was clean and we were greeted right away. My son loved the antique truck they have and the atmosphere as a whole. The breakfast in the morning had everything you would want to eat. We were all satisfied. They do have a pool but seeing we were on a one night stay we never made it in but the area looked clean and inviting. I would stay here again.

The customer service is ALWAYS top notch!!!! We are always made to feel welcome! Very accommodating to all of our needs!! The staff, especially Evan went above and beyond to make our stay special!! We were upgraded to a suite for our entire stay and there was even a bottle of Champagne awaiting us upon our arrival, knowing it was our anniversary!!!
The new bedding is very comfortable, the pools are great, breakfast was satisfying and plentiful...not a negative word to say!!!!! Everything was perfect, as usual!!!!!

Room Tip: All rooms have mountain views!! South wing rooms are adjacent to the grand room for extra comfort an...

We booked many rooms here for a family reunion (46 of us). The hotel staff allowed us all to be booked in the south wing which had a separate room called the Bears Den (which had many couches, a table with chairs and a tv) we could all gather in when there was inclement weather or at night when we were done with the day. We grilled outside and the children used the playground and indoor pool. The rooms were very comfortable and clean. The staff are very kind, professional and courteous. We would highly recommend this Inn and would use it again if in the area.

Room Tip: We stayed in the south wing and had no complaints. It was quiet, the rooms were very comfortable and...

We absolutely loved our stay. The great room (lobby), the breakfast, location and staff were everything we needed. It makes our decision to return next year an easy one! It was our first vacation as a family and the memories will be wonderful ones! We are looking forward to booking our trip next year, and will definitely be staying at the Green Granite Inn!

We stayed here for 2 nights in August for our annual Storyland pilgrimage. We have stayed the previous 6 years at the Holiday Inn Express across the street, but had to change hotels this year because our friends could only stay one night, and most hotels in the area require a 2-night minimum on weekends in season.

The pros: reservation staff was lovely with a last-minute cancellation of one of the three families in our party, and didn't even charge us the $25 cancellation fee. We had a HUGE suite, with plenty of space, storage, and a mini-kitchen set up. The rooms and the indoor pool were very clean and in excellent repair. Cute playground on site, plenty of parking. The price per night was reasonable for the area. The housekeeping staff put the room in apple-pie order each night, but when I asked why they didn't take the tips left, responded "office staff won't let us take $ left on night tables." Felt sorry for him, but note to management: leave guests an envelope for housekeeping tips if you won't let your staff take the $ left in the traditional place!

The cons: Our room had a non-smoking sign on the door, but it reeked of stale tobacco. Or the smell was from another source. The decor in all the rooms, common areas and hallways is circa 1980, and it's showing its age. I commend the hotel for its use of energy saving bulbs, but the flourescent cast in every space was depressing. Our room had two separate glass doors leading a tiny cement patio with a plastic chair, that was inches from the front of the parked cars pulling up to the building. Not a very pleasant exterior space.

The enormous Redstone breakfast room has a mixture of chairs with mauve seats--either vinyl or stained fabric. The tiny flat screen on the huge empty wall is a poor choice in a room that is seating over 100 people at breakfast. Breakfast is straight out of a freezer and a package, and though plentiful, the only item I could safely endorse was the hard boiled eggs. Canned fruit cocktail? Haven't seen this in a decade. Communal bowls of unlabled, unknown type yogurt? A C- for breakfast, and robotic wait staff who couldn't even smile or make any eye contact--didn't feel the need to tip here.

Overall, I really missed the Holiday Inn Express and will go back there next year. Green Granite didn't offer any amenities that I couldn't get from a newer hotel with a better breakfast and friendlier staff, across the street.
