Was such a great place when I was a kid, I can't believe how well it's held up and now so much more fun to share with my family

I have gone there ever since the first show with James Montgomery. I do photograph a few of the shows and the line ups have been unbelievable. Sound is good, beer is good, staff is excellent. If you have not been to the Monkey, you're missing a lot. They even have movies, comedy and generally, a good diverse lineup of talent and styles.

Great music performances with both real and imitation acts. The theater is small and cozy. Dinner can be had before the show. Old movies both silent and talkies and classics can be viewed. Alex Ray rescued the old movie theater and rehabbed the building and turned it into a community asset.

As the other reviewers have stated this is a very nice historical building that now plays some pretty good music for the size. Being able to have dinner while seeing a show or band is really very pleasant. No large lines getting in and out before and after makes it really a great place to go. We have seen numerous bands here from Blue Oyster Cult to John Hiatt, would recommend it to everyone!
