“Just a great college town pub!”
Reviewed 20 October 2012

I absolutely love coming here for lunch with a friend of mine. The boa sandwich is drool worthy.
A great menu of choices, great album nostalgia along the beams and for fun sit under the moose head. Definitely worth a visit or two or three or well you get the idea.

“Reliable Tasty High Quality and Friendly”
Reviewed 18 October 2012

This is a rathskeller in a college town. It is busy every day at lunchtime, but there is popcorn available to ease the pangs. After work, a super place for a draft beer.

“Best sandwiches, daily specials, excellent decor and beers on tap”
Reviewed 4 October 2012

This is truely one of the most unique and expert put together restaurant. An underground deli/bar that now has lots of food specials, promoting it's night activity and has constant business. Great quality food meats, salads, soups and more pub grub at night. Anyone in the local area must eat here! Every town should have one and if you're a restaurant owner this should be a model to look at.

“8+ unique craft brews on tap & the town's best sandwiches”
Reviewed 10 August 2012

Like your craft brews? this is the best beer place within 50 miles. They have 15 beers on tap and they alternate the tap beers. You'll find local craft beers, mid-west beers and west coast beers. I think the only two regular taps are bud light (puke) and Guinness. They'll have IPA, porter, ales, stouts .... The bartenders know their beers and will try to match your tastes to what is on tap. They have beer specials each month. They have "retro" beers in cans - PBR, Nastyganset, genny cream... they have specialty beers by the bottle (30+?) choices. Pints run from 5$, most pints are 4$, to the 3$ special of the month. they have a 2$ beer shelf. Are you starting to get the picture? And upstairs in the Chase St. market they have an even larger selection. They have a small wine selection and some sparkling wine.

But they are BEST known for their sandwiches. They use premium old cuts and offer about a zillion permutations. Sandwiches run about 8$ w/ tax. All PSU alums will reminisce about their first Balboa. They also offer soup and salads and drinks for the kids. Tho you have to watch some of those babies very carefully!

This is the place to have lunch in plymouth so if the college is in session you may have to wait. I've seen the line out the door on many occasions. In the summer they only serve 11- 3pm. It was pouring rain today and it was packed!

The crowd mix is locals, college students/faculty/employees, HS kids, parents with kids, babies with parents, tourists, alumni and even an occasional visitor from a galaxy far far away. If you sit at the bar you will probably be spoken to by a stranger.

During the school year they have an occasional band on the weekends and stay open a bit later. They serve until 9pm during the school year.

They have one monster TV and another HDTV over one end of the bar, so you can take in a little sport if you so desire. The Sox, Patsies, and Bruins are always on.

Oh and for you true beer drinkers they have bud bottles. Plus you can kiss a moose!

If it wasn't for Beer De Mans i would have saved enough money to retire years ago LOL I've been a regular for over 20 yrs.
