“great for a rainy day or history buffs”
Reviewed 15 April 2014

Surprised to find this in town--fun afternoon. Kids will enjoy it. Hands on walk thru a submarine. You get to see what life was like for these folks who spent months at sea.

“I could visit here once a week”
Reviewed 4 March 2014

I'm a geek. An electric geek. And this old submarine is like going to heaven. My wife get claustrophobic here but I just love seeing how they did this stuff before semiconductors made it small and easy.

“Very Interesting History”
Reviewed 22 January 2014

My husband and I visited the Albacore last summer and it was a very interesting tour. It is a self-guided tour. If you are out and about in Portsmouth and looking for something to do for an hour or so, definitely stop here. It's inexpensive and a decent learning experience. One tip: it may be difficult if you are claustrophic or very tall, but that is to be expected.

“Tour Retired Submarine”
Reviewed 20 November 2013

Great stop along our visit to Portsmouth, NH. You can tour the retired submarine at your own pace, spending as little or as much time as you would like. It is very cramped quarters as all submarines are. Not for those with mobility issues or claustrophobic! Very little is off limits - you can even try out the controls and periscope (even though you can't see anything through it!).

Well worth the stop, see the video before starting, and watch your head ... it is a wonderful small piece of history.
