I stayed here for business and was really impressed! I travel very often and am usually a chain hotel kind of girl, but was this was one of my few options near Jaffrey where I am working. The owner checked me in, carried my bags to my room, and gave me two complementary bottles of water. The room itself is very cute and homey, but very clean as well. My queen room in the main inn was plenty big enough for me and would work for two people as well. Walls are a bit thin, but that's to be expected. Breakfast is included, and limited to eggs toast and meat but that was plenty for me. Dinner was great every night! Both the pub menu and the full dining menu were delicious. The staff was amazing. They were so friendly and remembered my breakfast and drink orders every day! Really charming place and I was grateful to stay here!

The good: The inn is what you expect for a New England inn. It is decorated well and has fresh paint everywhere. Our room was of average size and comfortable. It is set in a large amount of woods with lots of trails to walk or snowshoe right from the inn itself. It is a bit noisy at night.
The bad: We arrived late in the afternoon and wanted to just stay in so decided to eat in the tavern. We were told it would be a 10-15 minute wait (we could see 2 empty tables). We were seated, gave our drink orders and waited and waited. Finally someone came to take our meal order and we waited and waited. The food was tasteless (burger) and the fish and chips had uncooked batter on the fish itself. Very unappetizing. The service was slow and we felt like we were a bother to the servers. Didn't eat there for the remainder of our trip.

We were so fortunate to have chosen the Woodbound Inn for our wedding and honeymoon. Nothing could have been more perfect. The Woodbound is a quintessential New England Inn with modern amenities. We had a king suite, which was perfect for our small wedding party of eight. The bathroom was simply to die for, and the bed was super comfy. The owners, Rudy and Laura, were always around to make sure that everything was to our liking. Their staff was superb--very professional, yet always friendly and accommodating. And what can I say about the food except," Bravo, Rudy!" From the breakfasts to the Sunday brunch (complete with Eggs Benedict) to the pub dinners to a phenomenal wedding dinner (perfectly seared sea scallops over lemon thyme risotto)---absolutely first-rate.

To give you an idea how wonderful this place is, we were a little concerned about our daughter-in-law, and how she would view the inn (she's nothing if not exacting). At breakfast on the last day of our stay, she announced that the whole family has to come back in the summer on 2015 for a family reunion!

If you are ever in the area, do yourself a favor and stay at the Woodbound. I know you will fall in love with it, as we all did.

Spent New Years Eve here and it was the best one we have had, it was amazing from the moment we stepped in the door to the moment we sadly had to checked out. First and foremost the staff, food and atmosphere here is terrific, hats off to the new owners who we saw throughout our stay talking with visitors, to enjoying the Gala with guests as they worked and oversaw the event. When we arrived we were warmly welcomed by the attendant at the front desk who explained all the details of the evening, we then headed to our room which was cozy and quaint got settled in and made our way to the bar in the restaurant for a drink before getting ready for the Gala, again the staff and atmosphere was exceptional. The Gala was a blast (next year we plan on bringing some family and friends along), the food was amazing (the owner is the head chef and you can tell he is devoted to what he does), the band the Nines played a great range of dancing music, and just when we thought the night could not get any better just before midnight we were handed champagne as we walked out onto the porch where we saw the most amazing fireworks display which were displayed in the field across the street from the inn, it was absolutely incredible. The next morning we had a delicious breakfast buffet from your standard breakfast items to eggs benedict, omelets made to order, fresh fruit, French toast to a delicious beef stew (would love the recipe). At checkout we were pleasantly surprised to see the owner and his son spending some time together (which was amazing since he had been hard at work earlier preparing breakfast) where we expressed our thanks for such a wonderful stay, we chatted for a bit about culinary as our son is going to college for culinary, taking a year off to get some experience and earn a little money, Rudy gave some great advice to pass along to our son. Thanks again Rudy & Laura and all the staff that made this the most memorable New Years Eve for us.

Spent Thanksgiving at the Inn with family and had a wonderful experience. The staff was very helpful and friendly, the food was amazing. We stayed in the older section of the Inn and although the rooms were old, it was very clean and comfortable. We will return.

The dinner was spectacular. A nice variety of foods and everything was excellent. The service was outstanding and friendly. Some of the rooms are dated, but are nice enough. Lovely surroundings. Can walk to the lake from the inn for a scenic view of the lake. Definitely worth the drive here.

Room Tip: Stay at the main part of the inn.

This was a fun weekend hiking with 5 of my friends up Mt. Monadnock and spending two nights in the cabins on the lake. The staff are very friendly. The food at the Inn is delicious. However, the two cabins we stayed in were infested with fleas! The cabins are outdated and need to be cleaned out thoroughly. I would recommend disposing of the 1980's furnishings and starting new. It doesn't even need to be an expensive renovation. It basically needs to be cleaned up. The sofa in the cabin was torn, worn and something you wouldn't even see in a fraternity. This place has great potential. I would recommend if you were to stay here to stay at the main inn.
