All the raving reviews still do not do this B&B justice - I had to chime in. Sugar Hill was simply an immaculately maintained and beautifully decorated B&B set in the middle of an awesome landscape. We escaped into an autumn wonderland! I would love to visit Sugar Hill again and I can only imagine it would be amazing in every season. John and Nancy are amazingly gracious hosts that spoil you but leave you to enjoy the beautiful home and surrounding scenery at your desired leisure. Breakfasts were incredibly delicious and beautifully displayed. And a couple of times we were so busy with our activities in the area, that breakfast sustained us till dinner. The home-style setting allowed us to enjoy a relaxing conversation each morning with the other guests - all interesting and from various destinations. My husband and I traveled with his brother and wife (who we adore) and now share wonderful picture postcard memories at Sugar Hill. Thank you John and Nancy!

I want to make you aware of a really wonderful Inn located in Sugar Hill, overlooking the White Mountains of New Hampshire. My husband and I visited it this past week while on a autumn foliage sightseeing tour through Vermont and New Hampshire.

The Inn itself is lovely - an immaculate renovation of a large Victorian done by it's owner, John, both a builder and cook by trade and history, and currently gracious Innkeeper and chef extraordinaire, and his lovely wife Nancy. The house is as large and spacious as it is warm and lovely, and John and Nancy made us feel welcome and comfortable like old friends, not first time guests. As Innkeepers, they have created the perfect balance of being attentive to their guests while creating a beautiful, personal and relaxing experience.

The Inn's Victorian environment was only surpassed by the food. Our breakfast was the best we had during our New England tour. Breakfast was made to each guest's liking - a roasted vegetable omelet, with sweet fresh strawberries and locally made yogurt topped with toasted almonds plus perfect coffee for us. The Danish family eating at the dining table with us had the most delicious looking Grand Marnier soaked french toast. John, an early morning person, like my husband, was up early and had perfect pots of coffee and tea ready for us, plus beautiful Bach concertos playing in the background making the morning even more special.

The views from the porch of the Inn are big and beautiful of the White Mountains and the Inn is perfectly located for access to hiking and skiing or just relaxing deeply. We loved our stay at the Victorian on Sunset Hill, and with John and Nancy, and hope to have a chance to return. There are probably thousands of Inns in Vermont and New Hampshire, the Victorian on Sunset Hill is among the best of them in our book.

Room Tip: Top floor rooms are most quiet.

This is one of the best of all the B&B's we've stayed in - for the hospitality, the quality of the inn itself, the food, the views, and the high-class, yet comfortable, ambiance. It is not only a beautiful property (with gorgeous views), but it is also meticulously maintained. It is a fairly new building so no issues with plumbing, etc. Then there are the extra touches, such as the wine and cheese in the afternoon, and a delicious breakfast. We felt completely comfortable here and enjoyed chatting with John and Nancy so much we hated to leave. We had a very large, spacious, top floor room with a spectacular sunrise over the White Mountains. Just when we thought it couldn't get any better, we went down to breakfast! Superb!!!

Room Tip: Views on the front of the house have a beautiful sunrise. Those on the rear, have a beautiful sunset. All rooms are spacious and lovely.

We've stayed in B & Bs all over the world and this one certainly made the top three. The location, view of the fall foliage from our balcony, hospitality, sumptuous made-from-scratch breakfast and luxureous accommodations were all incredible. I'm so mad that we didn't stay longer. John and Nancy are the perfect hosts. You can tell they only do this because they love people.

John and Nancy are the ideal host and hostess for their beautiful Victorian mansion on the hill. Welcoming, tending to your every need, they were the best. The house itself is spacious, tastefully decorated, thoroughly comfortable, and the breakfasts, cooked by John, were delicious, to say nothing of his cookies, available all the time. When tea time came, the choice of tea or wine was available. Drawbacks? None that we saw. Highly recommended.

Room Tip: We saw several rooms and they all looked great.
