This was a great restaurant for many years. Unfortunately, they are no longer in business. I am told the owners tried unsuccessfully to sell the business as they wanted to retire.

Stopped at this small roadside diner for supper on our way to an out-of-town football game. First time any of us had been there. The place is unpretentious and plain and seemed to be family-run. The ambiance is straight out of the 1950's (probably not intentionally). Just a few booths and tables.

There weren't many other parties there at 5:30, so we were greeted and seated right away. Our waitress was friendly and accommodating and made us feel at home. The menu was large and varied and the prices were reasonable. Some of us had bacon cheeseburgers and others had fried clams, all served with a choice of homemade chips or french fries. Food came out promptly, hot, and cooked perfectly. Portions were very large. Burgers were excellent and the clams were as good as you'll find anywhere. We were in a bit of a hurry, so didn't try any desserts.

If you go, be aware that no alcoholic beverages are available. Also, the hours are somewhat limited; they close at 7:00 pm. From what we've subsequently heard from others, breakfast is a big draw and the place can be very crowded in the mornings. We'll have to go back and try that the next time we're in the area.
