Stayed here for a wedding. The decor is typical outdated ski lodge. Location can't be beat though. Beds are horrible and there's a weird little window from the bathroom to the bedroom that makes no sense. Water pressure was horrible, ran the water for 45 minutes and it never filled high enough to run the jets. Seems a little pricey. No room service so rating doesn't count for that, continental breakfast consisted of BJ's or Sam's Club type muffins and coffee.

We stayed in room 331 with king bed + jacuzzi and is at the end of the hall. The room was clean, and was spacious enough to spend a night as we had planned. Jacuzzi gets a little tight for 2 people but large enough for one person. Waterville valley, where this hotel is located, is a beautiful place, off the beaten road. Compared to the crowded feeling of Kangamagus highway, this valley has less traffic, yet it offers lots of activities to do. Unfortunately the chair lift that goes to top of valley, is down for the rest of the season according to hotel staff. I was really looking forward to it and didn't know that it is down when I booked the stay. So know this if you are going there in the next few days. The staff was courteous and the breakfast was bare minimum sufficient. All in all, a pleasant stay.

I am not a big fan of wet dog smell, sticky and dirty surfaces or unfriendly staff; thus The Snowy Owl wasn't for me. My stay there reminded me of my brief sojourn in a small Parisian hotel where rooms were rented in hourly increments.
On the positive side, the hotel is in a great location, it is quiet and the wireless is fairly good. It should be mentioned that the two day stay was inexpensive, less than 250 including taxes and breakfast (because the place was not clean I did not eat there). Nonetheless, even though cheap the hotel does not present good value.

Room Tip: Don't stay in Snowy Owl.

The area is beautiful and so are the buildings on the outside. The inside is a different story.
Arrived at the front desk and checkin went smooth. No problems there.
Stayed in room 262 which is a one bed small apartment with a kitchenette. The kitchen appliances are a mixed bag of old and new. The electric stove and range hood are vintage 70's without any charm.
There are exposed pipes in every room for the sprinklers. No ding for safety even if its not aesthetic.

Other reviewers touted cleanliness but this room is anything but. On the surface it looked clean but it did not take long to discover the real lack of cleanliness. Let's start with the bed. I pulled back the sheets to discover that they were obviously not changed from the previous guest. Their hair was still quite evident between the sheets.

I opened up a drawer to find someone's old navy receipts and a left behind cigarette lighter. Next, I looked behind the bed up against the wall. Disgusting. Dust and hair line the top of the baseboards. Note that the bed is not bolted to the wall or floor so cleaning should not be an issue. The sofa wasn't filthy but behind it was not. Same as behind the bed.

Generally, there are holes in the walls as well as food stains on the wall against the kitchen table.
Could use some very general maintenance like painting and cleaning.

I paid 222.00 + tax (241.00) USD per night. For that I would expect at least clean living conditions.
I've seen much much better value and cleanliness from budget hotels. This place being a resort and for such exorbitant prices you should expect MUCH more for your money.

Lastly, the (free) Snowy Owl WIFI signal here is unobtainable... At least from the room.
Marginal AT&T but Verizon is strong.

See the attached photos.

Won't be staying at the Snowy Owl again. This place reeks of filth and property mismanagement.

This hotel has a very nice location but we were very unsatisfied with our stay. We booked through booking.com who offered room with or without breakfast. We chose to book with breakfast but that was useless since everone get, regardless of booking. Now booking.com has changed to only offer breakfast. Then you should know that breakfast means a muffin and orange juice.

We asked the staff for advice on the walking trails nearby. He was unknowledgable and couldn't give us give us any good advice, even though this is the main activity nearby.
They have a very beatiful indoor pool. But it didn't feel clean and after our son got a lot of pain in his eyes when diving, we stopped using the pool.

This is a poor hotel choice in Waterville Valley! I book because of the 3 star rating but I have been in nicer 1 star rated hotels. The whole place is beat! The room 301 was dirty, not kept up at all and really old. Carpet was full of stains, air conditioner did not work, and the hair dryer and bathroom lights went on and off as you tried to dry your hair. The continental breakfast was one of the worse we have seen, nothing but one kind of donuts and choc. chip muffins! At least they could of had cereal, something healthy for the children and adults! I know they wanted you to buy breakfast down stairs, then do not have a continental breakfast at all!!!! Not a fan of unhealthy eating!
The only nice parts was the check in staff, who were very nice and location was great for the valley.
