“Boardwalk Area”
Reviewed 21 August 2014

Weirs has changed some over the years, but it is still a good place to take the kids to play some arcade games. A nice place to walk along the boardwalk overlooking the many boats coming in and out of the area.

“Trip with the grandkids to Weir's Beach NH”
Reviewed 13 August 2014

If you want to re-live your child hood vacations of yesteryear with your own grandchildren, take them to Weir's Beach in the lakes region of New Hampshire.
We found a nice quaint motel about a 1/2 mile from the pier and beach called the Bay Top Motel. Nice, clean, quiet place with a small outdoor pool, with a fridge and microwave in the room. Great home base to check out the area with our 5 and 6 year old grandkids for a few days. The original sign welcomes all to a bygone era where family is first, like 50 years ago. The beach is clean and parking is inexpensive for the day. You can stroll the boardwalk and take a train ride on restored 1920's classic Pullman cars. Have a hobo lunch and let the balloon man make awesome animals for the kids. The train takes a leisurely route around Lake Winnepesaukee and after you get back to the station there is also the Mt. Washington cruise around the lake for all to enjoy either day or evening themed cruises. Right across the street from the docks is an old-fashioned boardwalk with shops, arcades and restaurants. The area is reminiscent of the early 1950' s and 1960's when I grew up in New England, where going to the beach with the family was a big treat. Nearby, look up the Wright Museum of WWII memorabilia, an absolutely stunning display of artifacts and information about the years between 1939 to 1945. We showed our grandkids what life was really like for people in that era. Back at the beach, the drive-in shows new movies, nearby is Funspot, the largest arcade in the world. Plan for the weather, and have FUN!

“Not much to do for a couple....”
Reviewed 29 July 2014

The Weirs Beach is more for children and teens because there are a lot of arcade games but for a couple hanging out, there aren't any nice bars or restaurants around.

“Crowded and dumpy”
Reviewed 28 July 2014

I remembered Weirs Beach fondly from childhood so I returned with my family. I don't think they have changed a thing since the eighties. It's too bad they have not invested in the beach or any of the local businesses/sights.

“Clearest water ever!”
Reviewed 26 July 2014

I LOVED this beach simply because it was so clear, and you could go out pretty far with the kids before it gets really deep. Small beach area, but I loved it!
