Dropped by for a late lunch while out for a little drive around enjoying the sunny spring day. Waitress, Courtney, was a delight: fun, funny, helpful, patient and very accommodating. The menu was quite extensive and given we were hungry, EVERYTHING looked good. Of course we over-ordered... but we are still enjoying the take-home leftovers, so it's all good!
Ambience/décor: Pretty old/rustic style. Lots of wood booths: quaint but small and a tad cramped. Main room is rather dark and view out the windows is not exactly "scenic" (but the natural light helped lighten the feel in the room).
The meal was universally GREAT:
- Clam chowder was steaming hot, very flavorful and lots of clams
- Clam and scallop dinner with onion rings: YUM! Clams were a bit smaller than I like, but to be expected given the season. Scallops, large and sweet. But the onion rings made all the difference. PERFECT -- not too thick, perfectly crisp.
- Pulled pork sandwich: generous portion, good flavor, loved the BBQ sauce, topped with... the yummy onion rings. :-)
- No room for an ice cream, but the waitress gave my husband an generous spoonful for tasting the purple cow. A perfect end to a very nice meal.
We were interested in the evening special, but were too early. We CLEARLY need to come back! We are betting, "in season', this place must be PACKED.
