Had a problem making reservation but manager called and was very nice. We stayed one night in the Log Units on the ground floor. We had a very large room with two queen beds. Rooms were very clean, beds were comfortable. Rooms have microwave and refrigerator. Our room was quite hot. We had to open the windows and door. It snowed during the night and even with the heat off we were still warm. Must be the logs hold the heat. The front desk staff was very efficient and pleasant. The hotel is right across the street from Shiloh's restaurant and Walmart. Rite Aid is right next to hotel. Would definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: You can hear people above you, so might be better to stay on second floor.

I have been staying at the Nootka several times a year for the past 5 years and just returned from another weedend there. I have never had an unpleasant experience, the rooms have always been very clean, well maintained and comfortable and the staff very friendly and accommodating, Dot is one of my favorites. The log unit rooms have recently been repainted and recarpeted and are quite nice. Shiloh's restaurant is within walking distance (as is a Walmart) and quite good for breakfast. The "Happy Hour Restaurant" in Wells River Vermont, about 5 miles, is very much like country home cooking, very, very good and inexpensive and the waitstaff could not be more friendly.

Our family of four stayed at the Nootka Lodge this past weekend and found the accommodations to be well worth the $126 for the large room with two queen beds on a Friday night. The log cabin style of the lodge made it cozy and the place was clean and quiet with no odd odors or any other negative drawback.

Our second floor room had a balcony overlooking the pool. Check-in and out were speedy and without problem and staff was always polite and friendly. We would stay here again.

Room Tip: Get a second floor room - they all have balconies and are more quiet.

We stayed in the Log Units, as we were told they were more updated and was pleasantly surprised, rooms had Vaulted ceilings and updated bathroom, fridge and microwave. Very clean. Reading some of the other reviews, I am thinking that some did not stay in a Log unit, definitely recommend, 2nd floor had balconies overlooking pool area. Great restaurant across the street for breakfast, overall, would stay again, the owners and everyone were very helpful.

Room Tip: Chooses a Log Unit Room.

A good enough room for a one night stay. Reasonable rate, clean and quite. No continental breakfast, but they did have in room coffee. Take a 2 minute drive down to Shiloh's Family Restaurant for a good breakfast, lunch or dinner.

My husband and I stayed at the Nootka Lodge two nights this past weekend and were very dissapointed and unhappy staying there. Upon entering the room we noticed the curtains were falling off the rods, there was a plunger aside the toilet (which we had to use upon the first visit to the bathroom), and the only arm chair in the room was disgustingly faded and filthy. However, since they were fully booked, it was the holiday weekend and they are the "only game in town", we had no choice as to where we could stay. That evening upon going to bed, the mattresses made us feel as if we were floating at sea. They were horrible. After finally getting to sleep we were awakened by a large group of other Lodge visitors gathered right below our room who were drinking, talking extremely loudly and being raucous. Around midnight we called the office to ask them if they could correct this situation. At one point it did seem as if
the situation was quieting down, but it didn't last. This went on until the early hours of the morning. In the morning we noticed beer cans, bottles, boxes of beer, and cups strewn around'
the property. It was very unsettling. After spending the day out and about, we came back to
find the cases of beer still on the property. It wasn't a very impressive situation. Neither my husband nor I are prudish but I should think the Nootka Lodge proprietors would not want
to have that sort of thing among the first impressions one has as they drive inl This is more like something I would expect at a campground and even they have quiet hour for the evening. All in all, we would not recoommend this establishment. Drive a little further and stay at a well known chain and we believe you will have a far better experience.

We did have several larger groups in for Labor Day weekend , and we expressed to these groups that they are to respect other guests and respect our property. We have 5 buildings on our property so we also try to keep groups together, as it creates a nicer atmosphere for all guests. The guest who wrote this review did end up in a building with a larger group, because a member of the group cancelled last minute and this guest called a few days before check-in and booked the open room. Despite this, if the group had been respectful this would not have been an issue. Several other groups coming for the same local event were not an issue, but unfortunately this group was not respectful as they did create some noise by gathering outside their room in the evening. They were asked to quite down and return to their rooms on 2 occasions, we checked several times after the second occasion, and we had no more problems. Unfortunately this guest was disturbed by the noise but we certainly do not allow guests who create a disturbance to return in the future and what we expect is clearly laid out before check-in. We offered this guest a Gift Certificate for a future stay. I have since spoke with the guest and she has thanked us and has let us know they will return to redeem the certificate. When we spoke with her she also confirmed that she was upset about the noise when she wrote the review but that several of her family members have stayed with us and enjoyed their accommodations. If you look at our reviews both here and on other travel sites, you will see that we pride ourselves on our accommodations and service. Based on 3 new positive reviews, that followed this one, an online inquiry I received last week that raved about their previous stay, and also the note my housekeeper handed me today that was of similar positive nature, I know we are not missing our mark on the high expectations we have for our business.

Spent one night in the motel. Room was nothing more then OK, 2 queen size beds and mini-kitchen (fridge, sink and some kitchen supply). The room was very clean.

The location is nice- across the street from Walmart, where we bought food for the next day.
The hotel has a pool but even though it was August- the weather wasn't warm enough. Woodsville didn't have much to offer at night so we used the gym (2 treadmills and some weights) to pass the time.

I think it's a cool place to come with a group of friends and use the BBQ and the hot tub. Otherwise it's a bit boring...
