“High prices for mediocracy”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 25 July 2014

Unwelcoming. First we arrived 5 minutes early for a 5pm reservation . We were told they weren't ready and had to wait outside in the heat. 10 after 5 we were allowed in while tables were being windexed

When we told them we wanted to order appetizers and salads they took the crudités off the table. We spent 50 dollars for 20 steamed little neck clams and two green salads
Not bad but not good.
Not a charming place everything was eh! At a premium

“Very good food, friendly service”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 11 July 2014 via mobile

Has been around the north end of LBI forever, but just tried it for the first time....big mistake not getting there sooner! It's great! Very fresh fish and steak menu with great specials. Cooked perfectly and served quickly. Fair entre pricing, but some steals with $2 shrimp cocktail when ordering main course. Not much atmosphere, but that's offset with friendly, prompt service and good food. BYOB caps it as a best choice for north end of the island. Seats about 50 so call ahead.

“Wonderful food”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 11 July 2014

Very casual, family-run restaurant that server perfectly-cooked, fresh, wonderful food. We have been going there for almost 20 years and it is our favorite restaurant on the island. The fish is always fresh and delicious, but so is the meat. If you go, you will notice that there will always be people dining who have been regulars for years, if not decades. That says it all about the place. They are devoted to their customers, they serve wonderful food and that is why we all keep going back.

“Not my favorite restaurant but worth going!”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 31 August 2013 via mobile

I heard such great things about this restaurant, but was warned not to expect much from the atmosphere. This is absolutely true regarding the interior of the building. Don't worry about your attire. Definitely casual. Recommend shorts and flip flops. I was disappointed with my meal, which was steak with crab meat. My friends, who all ordered seafood, did love their meals. Perhaps stick with fish entrees? The service was overall good, but we had to ask three three times for our waters and twice for our ice teas. The restaurant is BYOB and they do not expect credit cards. They except cash and personal checks with proper id.

“Favorite LBI place”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 26 August 2013

I have been coming to eat here every summer for decades. The regulars know that she chef gets pick of the catch from his fishermen friends from childhood, which he prepares simply and wonderfully. The unchanging decor, casual atmosphere, same owner- chefs and excellent food means that you really CAN go home again every summer.
