The sand sitting areas remain sparse at high tide, although they seem to have returned a bit since major storm depletion. They do become crowded in high season. Badges are required and can only be obtained at one off beach location at the center of town. Parking is mostly curbside where there are lots of yellow curbs and can get very difficult on weekends. There are no public restrooms and food & drink (except water) cannot be consumed on the beach. Lots of effort has been put forth to repair beach stairways, decks and entrances since Sandy. They have never looked better. The Bay Head Beach experience is best enjoyed while you're staying proximate, the closer the better.
