“Adorable Inn, Great Location!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 2 June 2014 via mobile

We stayed here for the weekend of our wedding and it was perfect! Glenn, the innkeeper is so nice and hospitable and the breakfast was great every morning! This is a perfect Bay Head Inn. It's charming and beachy. It's so close to the beach and the bay and the shops of Bay Head. They have beach towels and chairs for use as well as bikes. We will definitely be back and I would recommend this Inn to anyone.

This was the first bed and breakfast my boyfriend and I have gone to. We were unsure what it'd be like and were not too keen on the thought of sitting at a big table with all the other guests for breakfast in the morning (that was our impression of a bed and breakfast). From the second we rang the bell, we felt very welcome and comfortable. We really felt like Glenn was welcoming us into his home. The house was beautiful and clean. I didn't have a problem with the shared bathroom (I graduated from college a year ago so I'm used to communal living). Breakfast the next morning was delicious and not awkward at all. There are a number of small tables where you can sit, and you're promptly greeted by a kind server. The food was delicious! Overall, we had a wonderful time and would definitely return (though we'll probably book a slightly larger room next time).

Room Tip: The Anna Mae room was pretty small (though lovely!); it's basically just a bed. This was fine fo...

This inn has a great location. Walk 2 minutes to the beach, walk 2 minutes to the bay. We had a room with a private bath and access to the second floor balcony. Though fairly small, the room was very clean. It is charming and decorated with older furniture and decor. But I thought it was adorable. If you're looking for modern decor and rainfall showers, this isn't the place for you. But if you're looking for a very clean inn with a great location, nice breakfast, affordable rates and incredibly welcoming owner/staff, then you'll enjoy your stay tremendously.

My daughter and I stayed overnight for a very short get-away. The Inn is so very charming, the Proprietor is very accommodating, and the breakfast was one of the best I've had in a very long time. Amenities are perfect, with a large video library, Wi-Fi, cozy living room, and huge breakfast area. Would definitely stay here again and again!

Room Tip: All rooms are great - all open to a lovely surrounding porch area!

Our recent stay at the Bentley Inn was terrific. Glenn the proprietor is a natural--he's very attentive to the needs of his customers, is truly a personable guy, and has a real knack for making one feel right at home. We stayed in the Jeffrey Dennis room, which is located in the rear of the building. It had a full bath with access to the wrap-around second floor porch. Really great. Downstairs in the dining room is a refrigerator which was offered to us to keep any perishable items. Glenn always has hot water out, along with tea bags, etc. This set up came in really handy when we got back from the Christmas Tree Lighting over in nearby Point Pleasant Beach or one of the many walks we took along the ocean a block away.

Room Tip: Rooms on the second floor in the front of the building and along the southern elevation have access...

The innkeeper, Glenn, was gracious and made us feel welcome. The Inn is an old rennovated boarding home. Personally, I am not into nostalgia and "cute." The room was cramped but it had a cramped bathroom. Larger rooms share bathrooms. I gave up sharing when I left the military. I enjoyed the large porch. The location is convenient to the beach and Mueller's bakery.
For those that enjoy period living then this is the place for you.

Room Tip: Make sure you request en suite if you want a private bath.

Thank you for the kind words. We try to make everyone feel welcomed, well cared for and at home. The Inn is decorated with it's time period in mind and was actually never a boarding house. It was built as a summer home in the late 1800's then became an inn in the 1920's. Our rooms are small (the idea back then was to have plenty of bedrooms to house family & friends instead of large bedrooms because more time was spent outdoors or on the porch or in the large rooms on the 1st floor). Some rooms are smaller than others because space had to be borrowed to create more bathrooms We do have larger rooms with private bathrooms on the 3rd floor.

I had visited Bay Head as a kid and was interested in visiting there again on a recent trip east. My wife and I stayed 3 nights and Glenn the inn keeper could not have been more responsive and helpful. We had a great room on the second floor with a bath and direct access to the veranda. While they are small rooms, it was wonderful. It was late September and the days were still nice, so we spent what time we had outside on the veranda. Breakfast each morning was a combination of buffet and made to order eggs. Afternoon tea and sweet treat was also served. We would definitively stay there again.

Room Tip: We enjoyed a second floor room with attached bath and access to the veranda. These are the Jeffrey...
