If You Like Chowda, you have to try this place, and it has a great
flavor you will not forget. It can be very busy at times, but the service
is fast, and the food is great!

“pretty darned good!”
Reviewed 6 July 2014

small place tucked in the middle of a tourist shopping attraction: Bay Village.
no where to eat inside, but the storefront (which is about all it is), does have some tables nearby and caters to take out.

the NE clam chowder is quite good-
our son loves it in a bread bowl, which is more expensive, but the bread was surprisingly good as well.
order the soup and break separately- you'll get more than just a ladle or so into the bread bowl.

lobster bisque was also tasty- could have been a bit chunkier.

a woman nearby complained about how salty it all was- as a diner keenly aware of salt, I did not find this to be the case at all.

a bit pricey, but it is a tourist area-
all in all a place worth finding and enjoying.

“Awesome N E clam chowder”
Reviewed 27 June 2014

New England clam chowda in a bread bowl. Awesome. Worth the high $.
A must do when near the shops.
5 types of soups. With or without bread bowl you'll love it. Then a fresh delight at the bakery next store.

“Good Stuff.....in the midst of Sweets and Ice Cream”
Reviewed 29 May 2014

Bay Village is a great place to find fun, ice cream, baked goods and restaurants. Country Kettle Chowda is an awesome respite of quality food.....Soup! The Lobster Bisque is super and the Rhode Island Clam Chowder (Manhattan & New England mixed) was great too! Definitely worth a visit and better than the alternatives at Bay Village. BTW....it's a teeny teeny tiny place....to go style.

“Not as good as it used to be”
Reviewed 13 September 2013 via mobile

Country Kettle has some tables outside of the store, which is just a storefront so there's not much of an atmosphere which is okay since most buy the soup for take out.. The girl at the counter was a little surly and not at all friendly. Since I was getting the soup for take out, I overlooked this and got out as soon as possible. The soup was nowhere near as good as in the past. My daughter ordered the Manhattan clam chowder and didn't like it and threw it out since none of us eat it. The surly girl didn't fasten the cover well on my son's chicken noodle and a significant amount spilled before I got it home. My lobster bisque wasn't anywhere near as creamy and tasty as in the past. We normally get soup on the day we leave to go home but decided against it this year. The soup is a little pricey for mediocre soup. Maybe next year will be better.
