it's our family tradition for 3 generations to go to the clam bar when visiting LBI. It's a bit funky and Nell (the manager) runs it with a tight fist. (Don't even think of bring out a cell phone.) It is what it appears to be cement floor, a wrap around bar with only bar seating. Bring your own beer or wine and put it in the 2 large tubs filled with ice. You get to watch your order of clams or oysters being husked in front of you and the mussels in wine, garlic and butter are to die for. The seafood is fresh and never disappointing. I've had the scallops covered in cheese, the chowder both red and white, the fish specials and the clams casino and all were great. The price is extremely reasonable and the only issue if your impatient is the wait at peak times in the summer. If you don't like it there then good because bluntly it makes the wait better for all of us that love it there.
