This was both my girlfriend and I's first bed and breakfast experience, and we didn't know what to expect, so we came without expectations. To say the least, we were blown away (in a good way).

We knew we were in for a treat as soon as we arrived. We were greeted by the very friendly and hospitable Judy, as well as some baked goods, Crystal Light drink, and water on the porch. She gave us a run down on the B&B and showed us both the houses, the dining area, pool, bicycles, fridges, wine opener and glasses, beach chairs, and our room.

Our room was exceptionally clean and well maintained. We were initially wary of a certain "creepiness" associated with these types of rooms/B&Bs (again, first B&B experience), but we were soon put at ease when stepping through the door. It was comfortable and relaxing -- the perfect getaway.

A big, big plus to the Victoria Guest House is that it's located within a few seconds of a walk to the beach, and they also provide beach chairs, beach towels, and even a beach bag! Another plus are the free bikes that you can take for rides (until sunset).

Breakfast was delicious every morning, and we never felt any awkwardness among our neighboring guests in our out of our room.

We will most definitely be returning!

Good luck to the Victoria House from the devastation of Hurricane Sandy. John and Judy work very hard to make the Victoria House a great place to stay! We wish you the best! We know that John and Judy will make the Victoria House bettter than before!

In town for a three day wedding weekend at an adjacent area hotel, Victoria Guest House accommodated all of our needs for a lovely and memorable stay.

We booked Room 5, Victoria Guest House II (next door) via internet which was a relatively seamless process. Their user-friendly website adequately explained directions, amenities, what to expect, etc. The hosts were very gracious in expecting our late-night arrival from 9 hours away. The lodging itself is divided between two homes adjacent to each other. The main house is where majority of the activity occurs. We found Victoria II to be more quiet and relaxing. Accommodations are well kept and having a private bathroom was a nice feature. Our bedspread did have an odd looking stain on it which didn't detract from our experience, but it was noticeable upon initial entry. We were impressed with how ambient sound was muffled from other guests, stairs, street, etc. which led to a relatively good night's sleep. However, the outdated A/C unit left much to be desired, kicking on and off regularly. It took a night to get used to, but did keep us cool from the trailing summer humidity.

Breakfast options ranged from pancakes, waffles, eggs, sausage, and other sweet and salty homemade treats served very elegantly in a casual and social setting with other guests. We absolutely enjoyed the availability of bicycles for use to trample around the Jersey Shore area. Victoria Guest House is centrally located with numerous restaurants, a pharmacy, bars, etc. all within walking and bicycling distance. The beach is merely a stone's throw away and, once again, the hosts make beach passes available AND free to all guests.

Though the online reservation process is seamless, do pay close attention to the mail-in deposit directions. Reservations are not secured unless a deposit is mailed in the form of a check (which we hope in the future will be changed to an online payment process). We felt that $205 (off-season rate) was adequate for the accommodation, food, location, and amenities.

The highlight of our stay? Tie between the free availability of beach cruiser bikes and the coconut cherry cobbler (oh my goodness TO DIE FOR) ... ok, so the cobbler has the slight edge.

Room Tip: Rooms in Victoria Too are quieter. Choose the second or third floors.

We were very impressed with the cleanliness of the Victoria rooms and how well maintained the property is! We stayed there in late August for 3 nights and wished that we stayed longer! It was supprising to us that at a bed and breakfast the sheets were changed every few days and towels replaced daily. We stayed in the cottage which had a private entrance and was near the pool and main house for breakfast. We will be back as soon as we can! Great food and hospitality! A real gem in a great area so you can walk to restaurants, shops, and the beach is a short block away. LOVE, LOVE this cozy relaxing place!!

Room Tip: private entrance, near pool, patio in front. one step up to bath, ac works great.

This was our second stay and, sorry to say, our first stay was too long ago. Wish we hadn't waited so long. Our room was very nice, overlooking the pool, and was quite quiet at all times. The bathroom was immaculate and the shower was wonderful! Breakfasts were superb! The whole Property was extremely well kept and the hardworking proprietors incredibly hospitable. The inn is easy walking distance to the beach and all of the fine restaurants of Beach Haven. You will not be disappointed if you decide to stay here!
