“Hidden Gem!!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 28 May 2014

The steaks here are amazing but you could pass this restaurant by because the sign outside is so faded. We drove by the place several times before we realized this was the place we were looking for. It is truly a hidden gem. We all had steaks of varied sizes and cuts. They were all done to our satisfaction and delicious. My husband and I had the escargot for an appetizer and they were great. We will definitely go back again!

“Our favorite place”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 4 March 2014

Don't let the facade fool you. First, it is a restaurant and an exceptional one at that. Second, the unseen parking lot is probably full. As a result, I recommend reservations because the wait may be long and the bar filled with those waiting. Everything is well prepared, but the steaks and duck are my favorite meals. Probably the best place in northwest Jersey for escargot.

“It's not Peter Luger's but its close!!!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 26 December 2013

O.K. we've been coming here for more years than I can remember. Probably 7 or 8 times a year. We've eaten at Morton's, Peter Lugers, Ruth Cris, and the list goes on. You'll be very happy with the Steaks, their fries and many of the appetizers. The "whole" in the wall in western (cow country) New Jersey is excellent food. From time to time, you can have some slow service on drinks, but, then again, what's the rush. The food is well worth the wait. Don't be scared of the building, the place is family friendly.

“Hard to Find But Well Worth the Search”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 13 February 2013

Red Wolf is a first rate steakhouse that could easily be confused with an abandoned roadside garage on dark country road. You would be cheating yourself if you did not enter because of the outside appearance. By the way don't let the real life wolves in the back scare you either. The steaks are as good as those found in NYC prime time steakhouses. Yes it is that good. You order the type and size of the steak. The sides are also very good. There is a full bar and about 20 different beers on tap. The staff are friendly and good at what they do.The decor is early dimly lit. But no matter - you are here for one reason - to wolf down a great steak dinner. Go find it, we highly recommend

“Used to Love it til we last went in June..... Will give it another chance”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 16 August 2012

We have been here a few times and almost always have a great experience. This is a hole in the wall kind of lace but very good food (NORMALLY). Our last time however was less then normal. They had a special salad dressing only one chef makes and they were out of it on a friday night ????? bizarre ??? They also had alot of items on the menu but alot of it was not available. I am not sure if the food delivery wasnt it yet or what but they need to watch that. Another thing was that the food quality was off then normal.. I hope they didnt change chefs in the past few months. Things were very different. Not in a good way. I will give it another try but if it is like it was the last time we went then we will not go back. Strike 3 shame on me- Staff is ok.. They need to focus on the customers more and less on the gossip between themselves.
One last thing I will say .. The wolves in the back need their pens cleaned ! What a disgrace to see them living in their fecal matter and not groomed !! Who over owns them should be ashamed on themselves for keeping then that way. If you cannot properly care for the animal give it to someone that can. This is very upsetting to animal lovers !
Will keep you posted
