“Private dining experience”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 21 November 2013

We had a private room for dinner. The service was outstanding and the food was good. The wine selection was also excellent. The first course was good but not outstanding, Kobe beef tartare. One guest did have the mixed organize baby greens and though her salad was above average. Second course was also very good. The tile fish was excellent and the accompanying sauce was the perfect touch. The portions were appropriate. Filet mignon was cooked to perfection. Sunchoke and potato puree was a different taste and not for everyone. Good portion. The dessert sampler for each guest was big! Almond orange torte was a favorite as well as the coffee caramel bar.

“Terrific experience”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 15 November 2013 via mobile

This was my first time at this restaurant. It was a lovely experience from the service to the wine to the food. I was here for business and the restaurant made us feel very special. I will be back for dinner with friends and family.

“Bernards Inn”

We dine at the Inn about 4 to 6 times a year and have, in the past, used it for special occasions, such as Thanksgiving. The food is very good, albeit a little expensive and the wine list is spectacular for Western New Jersey standards. You can dine at the bar or at a table and the decor is very nice. The menu is seasonal, as is the decorations within the restaurants. Good for a special occasion or just a saturday night dine out. I highly recommend this place.

“Great Food and Service!”

Fantastic food, espcially the steel-cut oatmeal with cranbrries and pecans and the raisin-pecan toast at breakfast.

“The Old Mill's 'Grain House' restaurant has gone down hill”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 21 October 2013

We have stopped at this restaurant as we head North for many years.
The wait staff are slow, brief with conversation, and not especially attentive.
The food has slipped. What used to be spectacular hamburgers are now indifferent, the onion soup is average, the ambiance in the bar dining room has disappeared. FINALLY! the room is so loud due to poor acoustics we found it unpleasant.
We have decided to search further in the area to find a better place to have a good and fairly quick lunch. The Bernards Inn is to be considered, however, it is $$$ and not a quick dine.
