“Small Town Diner!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 4 August 2012

While this is a typical Jersey Diner in some respects (menu, bad parking), it must be said that it brings home the small town feel. If you are looking for a burger, omelette, salad, pie, etc. where the servers know your name, look no further! They will help you out when you can't decide and ask how your family is. There's a pie case and a counter; the typical multiple-renovations interior spares nothing when it comes to atmosphere.
The early closing time is frustrating, but the rest of Blairstown proper is shutting down about the same time as the diner, so fretting and griping will get you nowhere.
At the end of the day, the diner is fantastic for breakfast, brunch, or even an early dinner. Go in, say hello, and be nice, just like your mama told you to!
Oh, and they get a fair share of boarding-schoolers on the weekends, so get in early before the teenagers wake up!

“Authentic and friendly”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 15 June 2012

The waitresses have a kind word, the soup and a burger is classic simple diner type and nothing tastes processed. It is cheap and serves a working local crowd. What's not to like? I go out of my way to stop here after a long ride on the Harley.

By the way this is the diner where they shot the horror movie Friday the 13th. And Blairstown is the town featured in the movie. Can't believe nobody said anything about THAT.

I would advise against hitchhiking to the diner for obvious reasons...

“Blairstown Diner....What a diner is all about!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 14 April 2012

Wasn't sure what to expect....Wow, was it like the good old days (coming from a 40+ year old LOL)
Small but open, wonderful friendly wait staff and the food was on the mark! It was the perfect DINER experience.
Will definately go back, we hear Friday nights are something to look forward to there.

“Lovely local small diner with great food and great service.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 23 September 2011

It's a diner folks, not a five star. Every meal that I have ever had here has included fresh, hot, cooked to order food that was served quickly and in a friendly way.
It is a nice local place where everyone knows everyone and there is always a lively and positive feel.

“Hey! It's a real diner, serving a real, small-town clientele!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 9 August 2011

This is not some mega-diner on Route 46 in Clifton or Fort Lee, staying open 24/7 with a 5,000 item menu that will kill you long before you kill it. It's a place that serves the usual, local crowd of students, hunters, farmers, cyclists, and bikers a great, solid diner meal--and does things to order if asked. No frozen fish entrees. No liquor. Great bacon, great short stack. Shiny, metallic, and refurbished, it sits next to a European meat market (worth a visit in itself) and across the street from a bar that serves great burgers and Brooklyn or Guinness on tap. Service is just fine.
