We bought a coupon from living social for the Carroll Villa Hotel. The deal was pretty awesome, so my review stems from getting some really cool things added in for the price. It was only valid for a weekday, so we arrived on Thursday afternoon. Cape May is so cute and that definitely added to it. The hotel is really cute and comfortable. The bathrooms are nice and clean and the room itself is also clean and spacious. The bed isnt awesome, but it's just fine. The guy at the front desk when we checked in was really nice and gave us directions to everything and gave us instructions on how to do varying things. He told us that if we wanted to have dinner with them, to make sure that we made a reservation at the Mad Batter restaurant that was part of the hotel. When we tried to do that, the blonde woman (who unfortunately I don't know the name of) was incredibly rude and condescending. She told us to come back when we were ready to eat. So about 10 minutes we were ready, we went and asked again, and she pretty much made me feel like an idiot. She said, I said let me know when you're ready to sit and then ignored me. Her rudeness really turned us off. The dinner turned out to be nice. It was included in our coupon, so we were not concerned about the price. But if we had been paying full price, I think I would have been disappointed. It was ok, but not worth $30 for an entree. We ordered a salmon and also a chicken dish. The salmon was decent. But the chicken was pretty rubbery, so we asked if we could switch it out for a salmon and they did accomodate us, which was nice of them. We sat at the bar, and there was a wonderful gentleman playing his guitar and singing. That was definitely a treat. All in all, we had such a lovely time. I would go again, but definitely would want to tell that hostess what I thought of her.

Other than the three flights of stairs, this mini vacation was the best.I have learned now to downsize my packing! The entire staff, especially Chita at reservations were most accommodating.Have sent family members there as well.Looking forward to a return get-away.

Two years ago, we had our wedding reception at this wonderful B&B. I commend the management of this Cape May landmark for making our second anniversary so special. Upon making my reservations I told the very outgoing front deck clerk that it was our anniversary weekend. Our arrival was greeted with a very warm welcome back and a fast and courteous check in. Upon entering our room my wife and I were greeted with ‘happy anniversary’ balloons, chocolate covered strawberries and a bottle of champagne. Our room (#18) was very comfortable and made for a vey relaxing time. The Mad Batter restaurant part of the same inn offered us a relaxing dinner on Friday evening, two great breakfasts and drinks at the bar while listening to an ‘awesome’ band on Saturday evening. Overall; our food was delicious, the wait and bar staff were very courteous and outgoing and the conversation with other guests and patrons quite enjoyable.

Thank you again for a wonderful weekend; my wife and I would recommend this bed and breakfast for any special occasion or for vacation travel.

Stayed for our 34th anniversary this weekend, and everything was positive except our room location although the room was comfortable and nicely decorated. You get to eat breakfast in the connected Mad Batter, a destination of other folks staying elsewhere. We also took advantage of the 30% guest discount for dinner one night, all meals & service were excellent. Location was ideal, we parked with the supplied permit and never moved our car for 2 days. Would definitely return again, but beware of your room selection. We were in #25, which happened to be located on a floor over the small bar, which isn't noted when picking your room. There is live music in the bar until 10pm, actually 10:20 on Saturday night, and if you want to turn in early or relax to end the day, you're out of luck.
