“Our Fall Return”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 7 October 2012

We returned to the Sea Crest for our Fall vacation and enjoyed every minute of it. We like the suites on the 4th floor because we can sit out on the balcony and see all the way down to the Lighthouse and the St. Mary-By-The-Sea Retreat. We're right across the street from the ocean, so who can beat that. Our room as always was very nice, the beds are great. Our housekeeper Cathy was very nice and did a great job on our room. The staff in the office were all very nice, as they always have been every time we go. And we have been going to the Sea Crest Inn for about 15 years. I agree with one other reviewer in that the living room furniture needs to be updated. The sofa has seen better days and is not comfortable to sit on.

Room Tip: The 4th floor rooms facing the ocean AND the lighthouse have the best views.

Our first time in Cape May, last weekend in September. Room was clean, hot tub and pool were clean. Would go back for sure. View of the ocean was terrific too. Rooms could use updating, but not critical.

Our first time in Cape May and could not have picked a better place to stay. Our room ,the last one available, was small but comfortable. The room , pool and all outside areas were spotless. The staff and guests, most of whom seemed to be frequent visitors, were friendly and helpful. We will definitely be visiting again.

Cape May is a very pretty town with many interesting sights.

We love it when a guest reports a great first time experience to our inn as well as our city. We can't wait for you to come back and maybe we will have one of our bigger rooms available this time.

My husband and I have stayed at the Sea Crest on several occasions, each time booking an efficiency unit. They have always been top-notch. This was our first time booking a motel room. We stayed in Room 301. The room was beautiful, the view gorgeous, and the accommodations immaculate. We are rather fussy when it comes to cleanliness, and the Sea Crest never disappoints us. Our maid, Lorraine, kept the room so tidy and replenished everything without having to remind her. She was sweet and friendly. The ladies at the front desk were so pleasant and helpful. We never entered the office without being greeted with a smile and a hello. Everyone made you feel like an old friend and a valued guest. We remember the current owners parents who were lovely people, and it is so nice to see that that their son is carrying on their friendly and caring traditions. We were surprised with a basket of snacks and coffee in our room with a card welcoming us. I know of no other hotel where the management is so thoughtful. I highly recommend the Sea Crest to anyone looking for a clean, friendly, relaxing place to stay.

Room Tip: Like hearing the waves, then book an oceanfront motel room. Need an efficiency, the recessed oceanf...

It is so great to get a review like this. It is very important to us to keep up the standard that was set by the parents of our owner. It means a lot to all of us who work here to be validated in our efforts. Lorraine is a wonderful housekeeper, and we will let her know you noticed.

My second time staying at the Sea Crest. First time I thought it was wonderful.
But, I sadly tend to agree with a previous poster who states that some of the reviews of the Sea Crest are a bit overzealous.

For the cost, the inn loses its appeal when it is obvious they bare-bone it as much as possible without even trying to mask it.

I understand that running a hotel, proprietors have to contend with thieves who try to take everything they can pack into their suitcase. And also upkeep of a seaside property requires annual repair and maintenance....but,

"Breck" shampoo samples? Cups with other hotel names on them? The coffee was nasty.
Our friend's suite had no easy chair, no alarm clock.
The "heated" pool was freezing.

This time around I found the place is running very cheap, yet the rates are anything but. For almost a thousand bucks for 3 night's stay, I think they can do better with their amenities.
Sorry.

My wife & I satyed for 4 nights during September. The only thing to say is Holy Cow.

The Seacrest is an amazing resort from the minute you arrive. The office staff is very courteous and friendly. You feel that you have met them before. Then you go to your room and when you walk in you cannot believe how clean. Hardwood floors, a very clean tiled bathroom and comfortable beds. The kitchen is well equiped.

The owners Bob & Cindy are there most of the time. You can see they care about your stay. They work very hard and it shows.

The maintenance staff led by Ken keep the place running smoothly. I could not believe it when I saw the deck around the pool being mopped by hand with soap. I have never seen that being done. The grounds look perfect.

Housekeeping staff really work hard to keep the rooms clean, and are there to answer any questions.

I would only consider staying elsewhere if the Seacrest had No Vacancy, which I am sure they do a lot of time. It is still a family owned establishment with caring owners. You do not find that very often today.

The location is great, almost at the end of Cape May, so the crowds don't bother you. It is 100% peace and quiet with great ocean views, and you can walk to everthing.

Highly, Highly recomended

Cliff M

My husband and I stayed at Sea Crest the week of September 10th. When I first entered our room, all I could say was ". Wow ". .. Everything had been redone and updated. Love...the hardwood floors, furniture and new cabinets and frig. Again...wow.
The little basket of goodies on the kitchen counter was a very nice treat.
You have really done it. Keep up the good work and we will return often...looking forward to seeing you again. Next year. Oh the linens and needing is wonderful...how about a flat screen for bedroom...ha ! The one in the living room is very nice.
