We are always looking for nice, clean, affordable places to stay for a few nights in Cape May. The last time we visited the town, in April, we stopped in to look here to see if it was a nice place. Upon a quick look in a room, we thought it would be a good place to stay in the future.
The future came this past weekend, when we stayed here for one night.
Our room was clean, bright, well-maintained and cozy for us both.
The bathroom was recently updated with a nice Kohler sink, toilet, and tub, all well-maintained and fully functional. Even nicer was the modern wooden sink stand with two drawers below the sink. That was very nice.
The bathroom was clean and bright.
For us, clean and comfortable trumps a lot and this room was just what we were looking for at the beach.
The LCD TV was fine, and the bed and lighting were good, too.
There was no closet, but there were several dresser drawers.
The towels were clean and adequate, as were the bed linens. The wall unit AC was nice and cold. :)
The front desk staff was friendly and very accommodating.
We will return to this place.
I hope your stay is as nice as ours. :)

We spent two night at the Sea Crest Inn in the middle of June. This was our second stay at the Sea Crest Inn, and we look forward to going back again. We had a 2 room suite, overlooking the sundeck - not a great view but less expensive, and the beach is directly across the street. The rooms are very clean and well-kept, the bed comfortable, and the staff are friendly and welcoming. The pool also is clean and well-cared-for. Cape May is the delightful town, and it's a short walk to the main area where there are shops and restaurants. Even better is the walk to the lighthouse and state park.

Room Tip: The rooms overlooking the sundeck don't have a view but are quiet and less expensive.

Our first trip to Cape May and the Sea Crest.. we got a 2 room suite (queen bed w/tv in 1 room, bathroom and kitchenette/liv room area w/tv with a shared balcony on the oceanfront facing pool and beach. Great views. Clean. Nice staff. Claudia was our room keeper and she was so nice and wonderful - Kudos to Claudia. The bathroom had been upgraded with new amenities - very nice. However the bathroom door - no lock .. and its more of a - what we call - a parlor door (slides into the wall) so theres no opening in/out door.. I did take pics but haven't downloaded them yet..but I will add once I do. and the AC works great in the bedroom (the only one in the room) but it was not enough to get to the liv room/kitchenette area so it was hot in there and very cool in the bedroom.. and the sliding door that goes out to the shared balcony - usually you get a stick or something to put down on the track - besides the lock on the door - to keep it from sliding back while your out - there was a stick in the track but it was too short and the door could open enough for a thin person to get through so we added our personal stuff to it to keep it from sliding back that far....also - we went to the Ocean View restaurant a few times to eat and we found out staying at the Sea Crest - O.V. gave us a discount on our bill! Would I stay at the Sea Crest again - absolutely and I would recommend it!

We have been going to Cape May for over 20 years and stayed at the same hotel until the hotel was converted to condos. We were very disappointed and tried a couple other hotels but they just didn't measure up. We were eating dinner in the Ocean View one evening and we heard a couple talking about the Sea Crest Inn and how similar it was to the hotel we used to stay at. The next time we went to Cape May we made reservations at the Sea Crest and it has become the only hotel we consider when visiting Cape May. We have been staying there for the past 8 years now and love, love, love it. It is a very quiet hotel with very few children. It has a very nice pool and hot tub and all of the employees are exceptionally nice. It is one of the cleanest hotels I have ever stayed in. We loved our roomkeeper Claudia who was very concerned when I told her I had lost an ankle bracelet and she went out of her way to find it for me. Kenny who works in Maintenance is one of the hardest working people I have ever met and always goes the extra mile to make us feel welcome. I could keep writing but I am going to run out of characters but to sum it up, GREAT PLACE TO STAY!

Hi Jan. Thank you so much for mentioning the great work our staff does. Especially those who often go unnoticed. Our housekeeping staff along with our terrific maintenance crew are the people who really keep your rooms looking nice. Thanks again for noticing.

The Sea Crest is very clean and has friendly accommodating staff. Not big on shared balconies but that turned out to be ok. On the up side smoking is permitted on the balconies, nothing like a coffee/beer, a cigar and the sights and sounds of the surf to start and finish ones day. As far as value... "Ain't nuttin cheap at the shore"

We had the top floor suite with two bedrooms and two baths and a neat kitchenette. Great room. Looked brand new. View of the ocean with two blaconies. Great staff and the price could not be beat. Walk to Washington Street Mall. Will definately be back.

Some expectations were met - it was clean and spacious.
But, as to service that was responsive, eh nope.
I paid top dollar for a 4th floor suite with promised great sea view.

I called ahead of a storm to learn there is no leeway to reschedule for credit and, of course, no refund (understandable) so I went anyway.
Requested beach tags for the maybe 2 hour window of my stay when it wasn't going to rain? Nope, they used to lend beach tags, but no longer do that. Too bad, so sad.
Check out time on a non-busy day? 11 am. I would have expected a little something offered as leeway in consideration of the unfortunate weather but nope. none offered.
As to the view??? Most of the view is the unfortunate flat roof of the motel in front of the Sea Crest.
For top dollar I am thinkin' there must be better choices.

Unfortunately, it is now against city ordinance in Cape May for motels to give beach passes. We would if we could. Unfortunately we have nothing to do with the weather and would make every day sunny if we could. If a room is reserved for the next day, we cannot give a late check-out. It would not be fair to the person that would be waiting for that room. We would if we could. The one thing we can control is how clean and comfortable our rooms are. We are so glad to hear that we came through for you.
