“Wonderfully Relaxing”

Our recent stay at the Queen's Hotel was wonderful and very relaxing. I stayed in the Balmoral Room which is in the Queen's Cottage. The location is perfect for sitting on the front porch in the rocking chairs to eat breakfast and to watch the horse carriages go by. It is only a short one block walk to the beach and one block walk to the pedestrian shopping mall and near many restaurants. The staff was very attentive and accomodating to everything we asked for. The owner recommended a fabulous restaurant "Tishas" for our dinner. The food and the beachfront location are outstanding. In the evening, the Balmoral Room has a great big double sized jacuzzi tub to relax in. I will be back.

We loved it! We were staying across the street at their bed and breakfast property and decided to extend our stay, so they placed us in The Queen's Hotel. We stayed four nights and had a wonderful time. The staff was friendly and helpful, the continental breakfast was two times the amount we eat at home, the free bikes, beach chairs, and mini-refrigerator were very useful, and the room was spacious and beautiful. And best of all, they washed our clothes for free during our stay! With the reasonable room rate and all the freebies (food, bikes, chairs, laundry), this vacation was very affordable.

For our 1st visit to Cape May we had a very nice time. We stayed at the Queen's Cottage with a sunken tub and a gas log fire place. It was very romantic. We were in walking distance to everything. We had a breakfast every morning in the hotel lobby. Went on a whale and dolphin watching tour. Also took a few of the tours that were given. Highly recommended!

For the money we paid to stay at the Queen's Hotel for three nights, we could have stayed at Captain Mey's for less and got MORE including a full breakfast and many other great perks. Our biggest complaint besides the money was the fact that we had to walk up 17, yes 17, steps in order to get to our second floor hotel rooms! This was very inconvenient for my mom. When I booked our rooms in January, I asked the receptionist if we could have rooms on a lower floor. She actually suggested them. Unfortunately, she DIDN'T tell us about the steep steps leading to the rooms. I felt bad for the family of four that arrived shortly after us. When the father looked at the fire escape steps leading to their upper floor, he shook his head and said he didn't know how he was going to get the luggage to their room.

One last problem we encountered. Painters were grinding and sanding outside our windows one afternoon! For all the years we've stayed in B&B's in Cape May, we've never run into construction people. We found this aggravating.

We'll do more research next time and ask specific questions. Looks can be deceiving.
