We enjoyed our stay in Cape May with a large family but this 130 year old home could use some updating in its decor. It's is hard to imagine this is a $1.7 million. If only the cheapskate owner would put $20K into it to update the furniture, kitchen, and beds. BTW, I don't particularly care to go down memory lane and watch TV on a 27" old CRT. Get with it Mr. Owner, spend $500 and mount a 50" plasma to the wall. The living room set up and odd furniture left little to be desired or comforts of hanging out with the family. Half of us sat in the dining room while the half sat in the livingroom. Kitchen Fridge had a hard time keeping the milk cold and the beer. Oh, 1 full bath upstairs and 1 full bath next to kitchen.
Positives? Of course, the LOCATION, a block away from the beach, the AWESOME shops on the main shopping avenue and Congress Hotel right out the front door. There is alot to be said for walking to everything, it really is THE way to enjoy beach vacations. Place is air conditioned for each room (have your own units) and did a nice job cooling everything.
Has a outdoor shower but it's kind of gross.. There is no real back yard, just a side patch and walkway with shower and grill in the back patio type ares. It's all overgrown. AGAIN, $1.7 million home and they can't spend 5K to landscape it nicely?
You have a great location here no doubt, but obvious the owner is a "slumlord" Parking is a real PIA, there is only enough room for ONE car here. You must park in the street and pay the meter from 10am-10pm (yes they ticket) or park in non metered spots 4 blocks away or more. again, Parking for one car, Unless you have 2 Fiats.
Lastly I will say this if the owner/realtor read this, FIX up the place! make it more comfortable for your guests and create a better livingroom layout and renovate the kitchen!
Would I recommend this place? No. Location is great and the size, but then again I like things a bit updated and knowing I'm staying in a place the the owners care about.
No pics to upload but the ones here are fairly accurate,
Would I recommend Cape May? Most definitely; we have already found a place for next Summer
