Owner description: Historic Cold Spring Village (HCSV) is a open air living history museum that invites all visitors to find meaning, pleasure, relevance, and inspiration in the exploration of southern New Jersey's past. It is a nonprofit, educational museum that is open during the spring-summer season. The centerpiece of the museum is a re-created rural Southern New Jersey town of the "home spun era" set on more than 30 acres. The Village will open for the 2018 season June 23rd. We will kick off our special weekend events on June 16th!

When in Cape May during the summer, it make sense to go on the Historic Cold Spring Village website, and choose a special event weekend--this way you can be assured to see not only the historic houses on the site, but also antiques or crafts, etc. We particularly like going in to the buildings that are manned by costumed interpreters that create goods for a general store on the property. The printmaker is always a favorite (ask for a sample to use as a bookmark), and the last time we were there, a very knowledgeable young lady was making blank journals/books, complete with marbleized end papers that were quite spectacular. There is an ice cream shop in the village that is always well stocked, along with a bakery complete with snickerdoodles. Every year the "restaurant" on premises changes, so call before you go to see what is available.

After over a decade of visiting Cape May we decided to drop by Cold Spring Village for a visit, and what a treat! The displays of craftsmanship & history, the **EXCELLENT* presentations by the various craftspersons and "re-enactors", coupled with what turned out to be a particularly nice day weather-wise, made this a memorable visit - so much so, in fact, that we intend to go back again. One could easily spend an entire day there, and we did spend the better part of one (roughly 10 AM 'til 4 PM). History buffs will love this place!
