Welcoming and easy-going is the vibe at Bacchus Inn. Perfect B&B for a one-nighter. Close to everything and a porch outfitted with rockers to appreciate the cool summer breezes and a good book. Our room was pretty though small. The room air conditioner proved a challenge to sleeping due to the loud whir and our inability to open the window for the cool night air. We purposely chose a small room and would chose a larger room and off-street parking for a longer stay.

The afternoon wine is good as is the breakfast. Worth the stay.

Room Tip: Choose a larger room for a more than one-night stay. All are beautiful and not encumbered by street...

We just wrapped our second stay at the Bacchus in. Can't speak highly enough of our time there. John is a great Innkeeper. Works his tail off to make sure you are pleased with your stay. Helps with dinner reservations and answering questions about what to do and where to go. Keeps the conversation lively and VERY entertaining. Would not hesitate to go back. Both rooms we stayed in were clean, well kept, and very comfortable. Both the main house and the Cottage (accross the street) are ideally located right where you want to be. All your needs are met. Breakfasts are always deliscious, and the afternoon refreshments are a great way to kick off the evening in a great little town.

Room Tip: Tell John what you are there for, and he will be up front and honest in recommending the best room f...

My wife and I have been going to the Bacchus Inn for about 4 years now. We love it so much we have decided to make it a twice a year thing. John and his staff are beyond nice , friendly, and wonderful, they make you feel like family. The Bacchus Inn has all diffrent size rooms depending on what you are looking for, but believe me, it wont matter, all the rooms are clean, comphy and spacious for whatever you bring. Close to the Washington Street Mall and all of its yummy places to eat. You will not be disappointed at the Bacchus Inn. The best inn at Cape May

Been to numerous bed and breakfasts in Cape May and when we stayed at the Bacchus Inn a few years ago we had an amazing stay and have been coming back for a few years now. Inn keepers John and Lisa are great people that make you feel so comfortable. We look forward to afternoon wine and cheese on the front porch. Breakfast is amazing. We would never stay anywhere else in Cape May!

Room Tip: Room 8 is on top floor with a great spa shower. Private porch right off room is very relaxing if you...

So on a Saturday morning my wife looks at me and says we should go to Cape May for the night. We live in Northern NJ but had never been. She jumps online and does a bunch of research and finds The Bacchus Inn. We were only there for one night but rest assured we will go back. Every part of our stay was just great. The Inn is gorgeous and so well kept, the breakfast was perfect, we were met in the afternoon with a great wine and cheese spread. The owners recommendation for dinner Saturday night was exactly what we wanted. Lastly, the bed in the room was the single most comfortable bed we have encountered in any of our travels. My recommendation is....just go and say hi to John for us.

Room Tip: We took the room at the top of the inn...very large bathroom with a great shower and a door to a sma...

My wife & I have traveled, every summer, for the past six years, up from Richmond, VA to Cape May & the Bacchus Inn. Then we spend the rest of the year, and into the next, dreaming about our next trip to Cape May & the Bacchus!
Our first visit was so wonderful, thanks to John & Lisa, the hospitable innkeepers, that we decided to get married in Cape May County and spend our honeymoon at the Bacchus. John & Lisa were so thoughtful, they supplied a bottle of Champagne and a box of chocolates for our suite. (Thanks again, guys!)
We have always been more than satisfied with the service, the rooms, the food, the people we've met, and most of all, the innkeepers. The highlight of the day is the 4 pm wine 'happy hour' which takes place on the front porch. Sit back, as the soft breezes blow, enjoy the assorted wines , the cheese & crackers and good conversation. We've met so many charming couples over the years, and John always keeps the discussion going and the wine flowing!
John comes from a 'hospitality' background, as his father was a motel owner. It shows in his constant attention to detail, his never ending work to improve the inn, and his outgoing demeanor making everyone feel 'right at home'. That's exactly how we feel every year when we return to the Bacchus, like were 'right at home' again. You can't go wrong staying here!

Room Tip: The Bacchus is really two inns, the larger main house, on the north side of Columbia Ave, where brea...

As we were driving down the block looking for the Inn a little after 4pm, we knew we were in the right place when we saw John the inn keeper crossing the street with a glass of wine in his hand. The daily Happy Hour was about to begin! We've stayed at many B&B's and found John to be one of the most engaging hosts that we've ever encountered. He has a knack for getting guests involved in conversations with each other, during Happy Hour and even at breakfast. The inn itself was conveniently located, we walked everywhere. The breakfasts were delicious. The Piedmont room was spacious, clean, and quiet but with a very tiny bathroom and small shower. This was our first visit to Cape May. We will be back and would stay here again. We would recommend the Bacchus Inn to others.
