Not reflective of the Inn where it is located and certainly not as good as we had hoped, as this was supposed to be our splurge dinner in Cape May. The dining room is lovely and the service was attentive. We had a party of six and had three different entrees. The Filet and Crab Cake are well done and your best bet (enjoyed by 3 in our group). The Prawns and Black Tagliatelle was the worst, it was not described as having very salty cured meat chopped in small pieces throughout the dish. The very small three prawns were over-powered by the salt and couldn't have provided more than 1-2 ounces of protein to the meal. The large pork chop was okay, but the person in our group had a much better chop later in our travels on the VA eastern shore. There are other, much better restaurants in the area to choose from.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback--and please accept my apologies that your meal was anything short of spectacular. I can assure you that the experience you describe is a far cry from the standards that we seek to uphold. While I was pleased to see that the service was attentive and the Steak & Cake entree was enjoyable, I am very sorry to hear that the Cardinal Prawns and Pork Chop fell short. Both dishes have been favorites at the Ebbitt Room this spring season, and the Pork Chop has become a staple for us as the large, bone-in chop comes from our very own Berkshire Hogs, raised at our farm just two miles from the restaurant. We will be sure to address the team in the kitchen and ensure we are not over-seasoning the dishes as well--and thank you for alerting us to the issue.

Again, please accept my apologies for the underwhelming experience at our restaurant. I sincerely hope that you will consider a return trip to the Ebbitt Room and give us the opportunity to redeem ourselves, and show you what a true Ebbitt Room experience should be.

Very Best,

Jordan Rowan

We traveled with a group of 6 adults and stayed at the Virginia Hotel. After reading reviews of the Ebbitt Room we made reservations for dinner there. It's a lovely restaurant and the atmosphere is special. However, we did not think that the food was exceptional considering the prices. A couple of us ordered the same meal and didn't even like it. We preferred the meals we had at the Blue Pig Tavern and the Cape May Fish Market.

Thank goodness the food was delicious since the restaurant was expensive. Had the steak & crab cake. Server was pleasant. Only saw 1 female server and about 10 men servers. Hmmmmmm.
2 glasses of wine were $30. Overall, the bar prices at this hotel are outrageous.

The porch is so inviting with beautiful flowers and once inside the ambiance is just lovely. We had an amazing Branzino and Steaks. The farm to table carrots were luscious. Deviled eggs, a speciality of the house did not disappoint. Service was impeccable. Major points when my remaining Branzino was taken to be boxed and mistakenly was thrown out. Without pausing a second, the waiter informed me a second was being prepared for me to take home. I will never forget that waiter and this restaurant for that incredible service. Put this restaurant at the top of your list.
