Excellant food and service. Great for a special night out, I would not think designed for families, more for couples.

Thank Rose J

This is now my favorite restaurant. The service we received from Rachel and James was outstanding. The crab cake appetizer was wonderful and the roasted red pepper just put it over the top. The pork chop entree was incredible; excellent recommendations from James. The added bonus is they valet park; no fighting to find a parking space or feed a meter. Highly recommend!

Food was fresh and excellent. Server was very knowledgable. Everything homemade! Steak was cooked to exact temperature. Nice for an anniversary dinner.

There are many great restaurants in Cape May, and the Washington Inn is among the best. We had reservations and our table was ready when arrived. Mixed drinks from the bar were properly prepared. Tomato basil soup was served hot and tasty. Entrees of crab cakes and salmon were outstanding. Service can't be beat. The entire team works together. Should anyone walk by your table and see an empty plate, or a glass needing refilling, they do it. It's not the "that's not my station" attitude. It's great for special occasions (our anniversary) or a memorable night out. This was not our first time to the Washington Inn and certainly will not be the last.

We went to this very expensive restaurant based on the reviews. Incredibly disappointing. The waiter had 0 knowledge of wine. After we ordered a bottle and it was awful he then said...oh let me get the sommelier to help you choose. Could have saved some grief suggesting that in the first place. The sommelier came over and did not even stand in front of us. He stood behind my husbands chair and asked what type wine were we looking for and the price we wanted to spend. We told him between $40-50. He chose a wine and it was good. Of course he went to the $50.00 price. I had the lamb chops $40.00 and my husband had the filet mignon. Firstly, their menu online is outdated. Most items online were not on the actual menu. Nor were the prices. If you enjoy chewing gum you will like the lamb. It was so incredibly chewy that it had to be taken apart to get out all of the fat. How can a dish be $40.00 and not perfection? The filet mignon was okay, nothing like we have tasted but decent enough to eat also $40.00. Unfortunately, we choose our one special night out there and regretted it as soon as we sat down and saw how things were run. Classless!! I feel strongly because we rarely go out and spend that kind of money on a meal. How these restaurants get away with this is amazing. Never again and hopefully people will see this and decide not to spend $200.00 on a meal that is completely dissatisfying.
