This place we visit each year. Love being on the water watching all the boats coming and going.
The NE clam chowder is delicious as is the warm homemade bread. My fav meal is the chicken francais w the toasted cheese points on the side.

So very disappointed. We had lived in the area for 7 years and went to the Lobster House from time to time...it was wonderful. We moved away and recently revisited (6 years later) - what a difference....don't bother!!! Staff not extremely friendly or helpful. You wait a long time for service. Way overpriced for what you get (portions) and food very average overall. Do some research and I believe you will find better seafood places to visit. I am sorry to have to write such a poor review...it used to be a treat to go there but not anymore.

The food is excellent, server very large portions. The garlic bread served seems fresh. The place is next to pier and the ambience is really good.

Not pet, children friendly though ;)

A. Try to get there during off peak hours if you are here during the summer rush.
B. Get thee to the fish market and pick a number like you do at the grocery market deli, grab a sheet of menu options next to the number dispenser.
C. Order a "to go" seafood order. You have the option to eat it on the docks out back. Plenty of chairs and tables there. Also a raw bar if that piques your interest back there.
The food is just as good, plenty of it. The environment is ideal for little ones. The food takes less time to get to you. A Broiled seafood combo will take you an extra 20 minutes over the standard takeout time. They sell desserts there that are to die for. You can get a fountain drink, a bottled drink from the fridge behind the order counter or I believe the raw bar serves beer, some alcohol. Once your order is placed you go to the back of the building for pickup. Your number will be called over a loud speaker.

Staying at the marina near the Lobster House so an easy walk. It was pouring rain out but place was packed. Funky old time feel to the entire place. Dining area is noisy but not intolerable. You can have a conversation. Waitress was friendly and efficient. Food; well it was good but not marvelous. Except the steamed mussels in white garlic. They were marvelous. Worth a visit.
