Nestled on a quiet one-way residential street surrounded by 100+ year old homes, lies this renovated two family which is just what this family of 4 was looking for. We are 2 fifty somethings with 2 kids aged 23 and 19. The apartment layout worked out well for us, even when the kids were joined by a friend or two during the week. We enjoyed having morning coffee on the porch watching the many and varied birds across the street and took advantage of the Weber gill for a dinner BBQ. Our neighbors were a nice combination of professionals, business owners, retirees and their families. Needless to say, the neighborhood felt very safe. We walked back at night after the theater, dinners, and mini-golf completely comfortable.
The apartment is well located in West Cape May just over the line from Cape May proper. The location for us was ideal because it was far enough away from the bustle of the Mall area yet close enough to be very walk-able to the beach and town center. We took advantage of the local Italian deli, cheese shop and bakery (2 blocks away) and the CVS (1 block) for necessaries. West End Garage (next to the bakery) for fun and unusual items is a must stop ( I found a dress ($58) and two pairs of earrings ($112 an $73) here.)
The owners, Nancy and Jim, live upstairs and take great pride in their property. They were available for questions but not at all intrusive. We'll be back next year to enjoy this clean, comfortable, affordable home away from home.
