Based on TA and Phila Inquire reviews we decided to give it a try.
We opted for the Early Bird (before 5:30) 3 course for $35.
The calamari salad, salmon, and roasted pork were excellent and the portions were the same as the regular menu. The lemon ricotta doughnuts with coffee ice cream were a great ending. The staff was was super friendly and server John was great. It is a byob and we had a nice table on the inside porch. The early bird was a good choice in that even though it was a Monday they were booked from 6:30 on and a great dinner for 2 in CM for $70-outstanding.
We will be back!

We arrived just as they were closing the kitchen, but they still graciously sat us and served us as if we were the first ones there. Our waiter John was great. He was funny, knowledgeable of the food and menu and attentive.

The food came out quickly, and was fantastic. Each dish had layers of amazing tastes.

The calamari was fantastic and was a different spin as it was a salad. The potato leek bisque was very good. The star of the appetizers was the bread. It was baked with oil and just the right amount of cheese. Crunchy on the outside and chewy on the inside.

My steak had a coffee and cocoa crust. It was unreal. The finger potatoes and mushrooms were a great compliment. Again, layers of flavor. My wife had the scallops. I'm not usually a fan, but I tasted them and they too were great.

For dessert, we had the lemon cinnamon doughnuts with marscapane ice cream. Crazy good. I ordered the French press coffee for a few dollars more than the standard cup of coffee. It was very, very good.

Overall, a great place. We sat on the porch on a beautiful night as the horse and carriages passed. Great food. Great ambiance. Great service. Great night. Thank you Blue Rose.

Whoa! Just returned from our final dinner during this trip in Cape May at the Blue Rose Inn, and what an amazing dinner and experience! The hostess and servers were so friendly, accommodating, and sweet. The dinner was paced well (no rush!) and each course was fantastic! We had the calamari salad and gnocchi apps - both were absolutely delicious. For dinner, we had the scallops and coffee crusted filet. They both knocked it out of the park! And for dessert: a coconut rum & white chocolate creme brûlée and the lemon ricotta doughnuts... Quite simply the best meal we had not only in Cape May but in general this past year, with the scallops being the best we've ever eaten. Wish this family owned restaurant all the best in their second year, and hope to be back real soon!!

We enjoyed our first time dining at the Blue Rose. Service was friendly and attentive, and the dining room was open and breezy. The food was great, although hit perhaps a bit expensive for the portion size. The care that want in to each course was obvious. I particularly enjoyed the delicious, inventive sorbets. Another hit restaurant in lucky Cape May.

We had dinner last night at the Blue Rose and it was excellent. We were a party of four and each one of us was saying yum to all we ate. Had the Beef myself thought is was the best I have had in any restaurant in Cape may. The service was great and everyone from having Tom sitting seat with us and then show us one of the rooms upstairs at the B&B . lovely would stay if we didn't have a home in Cape may.
