Excellent place. We stayed in the Garden Suite, wonderfully large & spacious. Added advantage of a kitchen. Victorian charm. The owners are great, reservations were easy & quick.
We have stayed in a number of B&Bs in Cape May, this one is by far the best, and we would repeat every time

The Columbia House is a wonderful place to stay in Cape May. It is so close to everything, the beach, shopping, restaurants and bars. The owners, Jim and Laura are great to work with, and are very responsive if you need anything. The house is very clean and has beautiful authentic Victorian decor. The beds are very comfortable, I slept wonderfully while I was staying there. I have been there twice now and would not hesitate to stay there again. The last time that I was there was not long after hurricane Sandy, and I was pleasantly surprised to find that here was no lasting damage to the quaint Cape May.

Room Tip: Just check the Columbia House website to find the room or suite that works for your needs. From what...

We’ve been to Cape May in the summer and heard the town does Christmas time very well so we came to check it out. We had a wonderful time made all the better with our stay at the Columbia House. My wife and I stayed in the Turret Suite with another couple. It was a perfectly comfortable place to relax and visit with friends. I really like the homey feel of a B&B, but with the privacy of our own apartment. We knew we found a great place to stay and that excitement was reinforced when we visited several other Victorian B&Bs in the area during the Christmas Candlelight House Tours. It was a lot of fun to see other Victorian homes decorated for the holiday and have the opportunity to see inside. And while each one was very nice, we though the Columbia House was the best choice for our stay by far. And yes the town does Christmas time very well with hospitality centers, trolley service and nice folks all around to direct traffic and help you on a self guided tour. I highly recommend a visit to Cape May for the holiday and stay at the Columbia House.

We stayed in the two bedroom two bathroom, Turret Suite for 5 nights and found it very comfortable, with nice beds, a comfortable lounge / dining area and compact, but perfectly adequate kitchen facilities. The owner, Laura, welcomed us on arrival and made sure we were well settled in and provided a daily maid service including fresh towels every day. She has furnished the suite in a charming and tasteful style, wholly in keeping with the Victorian building. The location is fabulous, one block from the beach and one block from the centre of this lovely little town. The on site parking was very convenient, as I understand it can get busy at peak times. We just hope they came through Hurricane Sandy OK, which struck less than a month after our visit. We couldn't have asked for more.

Just stayed at the Columbia House again. This Victorian gem is always beautifully maintained, clean and low key. The location is 1 block from the beach and 1 block to the action of Washington Street. The owners are available but very aware of their patron's privacy. Also, you get the charm of a B&B without the scheduled breakfast ordeal. This is something that we appreciate since we're not interested in the muffin & French toast entrees common with most B&B's. If you want an excellent accommodation in a beautiful part of Cape May, try the Columbia House with owners Jim & Laura. They are the best!

Room Tip: All of the suites are quite beautiful.

We just returned from yet another wonderful vacation! The Columbia House has been our choice for several years. We have stayed in the Master and Turret Suites. Both are tastefully decorated, comfortable and well maintained. Laura and Jim are always pleasant and available for anything you need. The location is just 1/2 block from the beach and shopping. The outdoor shower is terrific! It is the best place to stay in Cape May!

Our family just returned from a lovely relaxing week at the shore. It has been our custom to stay at the Columbia House for many, many years. We have two grown daughters w/spouses and one grandson. The Master Suite and Master Bedroom gives us the room we need as well as privacy. The house is in a wonderful location, 1 block from the beach and two from town. Just about everything is within walking distance. Laura and Jim give you the space to feel like it's your home yet when needed they are always available and very willing to help right whatever is wrong.
