Columbia House

Took my wife there for her Birthday and even though it was a rainy weekend we had a great time. Laura and Jim the owners were great. We got there on a Friday night around 8pm they were both there to greet us, Jim even helped me with my bags from the car. They were very nice and very helpful, they took the time to explain everything about the room and the house, The fireplace in our room was already on and it was nice and comfortable. They took the time to tell us about good places to eat and for entertainment and things to do around Cape May. The room was beautiful. Even though it is not a typical bed and breakfast it had its own kitchen with everything you could possibly need to make your own breakfast. Just bring the food that you want. TVs in both living room and bedroom, nice big shower with beautiful tile, king size bed that was very comfortable. The house was in walking distance to almost everything, Shops, Restaurants, Bars and other things. Since we went Jan 10th a lot of Christmas lights were still up and on, I felt like I was in a Charles Dickens movie, it was beautiful. I highly recommend the Columbia House for a nice relaxing weekend or week. Thank you both, John and Deanna

Room Tip: We stayed in the Parlor Suite and it was great, very clean, first floor, very nice kitchen and bedro...

I recently stayed in the Turrett Suite with two friends. It's a two bedroom suite and on the third floor. A couple of years ago we had stayed in the Garden Suite at this lovely Victorian Inn and found it to be very comfortable. The Inn keepers are very accommodating and make it easy to stay with them. No hassles at all. The Columbia House is so conveniently located on Ocean Ave. We could literally walk everywhere we needed to within 2 blocks of this location. The beach, restaurants, stores, etc. And yet we are able to sit on the porch of a tree lined block and enjoy the peace and beauty that is so prevalent in Cape May. The Turrett Suite just added to the enjoyment of the lovely Inn. It was decorated in such a beautiful Victorian style, we were all snapping pictures and oohing and aahing over it, especially the bedrooms and bathrooms. If you don't have any issues with the 2 flights of steps to get up there, then I know you will love it. The suite has it's own rooftop deck with table and chairs for enjoying the outdoors. Overall, we can't imagine a better spot to enjoy Cape May from. You can't go wrong with this Inn.

We recently shared the Turret Suite with some very good long time friends making their first visit ever to Cape May. Thank you to all that recommended this suite for two couples to share. Jim and Laura were there when we arrived and basically showed us how their "House" would be our home for the next couple of days. They let it be known they were only a phone call away at all times. Great hosts. Easy access to the beach, bicycle rentals, Washington Mall, and restaurants along with comfortable and spacious rooms, we would recommend a stay and will hopefully return in the near future.

Our friends now know how great the Jersey Shore is and will be ready to leave their hard earned out of state income and deposit it in New Jersey again. I guess our mission has been accomplished.

Very well located B&B. We stayed in the Turret Suite, which is beautiful and spacious. Everything was comfortable and elegant and fine, with none of the weird little issues (too few towels, broken TV or kitchen appliances, funny smells) that you too often encounter with these places. The owners were extremely nice and very helpful, ready to handle anything -- but they also gave us our space to enjoy the vacation, unlike some "hovering" B&B owners. They let us use the outdoor shower well after checkout time so we could enjoy a final day at the beach and still clean up afterward. A good scene all around, highly recommended.

We just got back from a four day getaway to the Columbia House in Cape May, NJ and as usual everything was perfect! Close to the beach and shopping, park your car in your private spot and enjoy. The beauty of a bed and breakfast with all the comforts of home. We love it! Thank you Laura for offering to mail home what i left behind. Oops

We stayed in the Turret Suite 3 nights with our 20-something daughters. The set up is perfect. Bathrooms are good size, nice outside deck, comfortable furniture, lots of room to hang things. May never stay in a B&B again as we enjoyed the flexibility of eating what and when we want for breakfast and there was much more privacy. Perfect location and good off-street assigned parking. Outside shower to wash off sand and beach chairs provided.

Room Tip: Third floor is a climb but quiet. First floor rooms have windows on wrap around porch that guests wi...

We traveled with another couple and we took the third floor. Two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a living room and kitchen table with a full kitchen, full stove microwave, full refrigerator and even a small dishwasher. There is a deck with table and chairs right off the kitchen. This place is perfectly located for the Washington Street Mall, walking distance to dinner, 1 block down from the beach. You can't ask for more. It is exceptionally clean and welcoming. The only thing is 3rd floor if stairs are a problem. How wonderful it was to have breakfast out on the deck with views of the ocean and the horse and buggy going by. Would recommend.....

Room Tip: All the rooms are beautiful, if 2 couples, 3rd floor is terrific.
