We ate here on our first night (Thursday) in Cape May. Great service and truly tasty food. Their menu is somewhat small but what they do make, they make well. They also had a good number of specials and a nice wine list. Their fried tomato appetizer was really yummy!!

My husband and I ate dinner at the Oyster Bay after receiving a recommendation from our Bed and Breakfast owner and being assured that they are known for wonderful seafood. The Oyster Bay is a dark and fairly dated restaurant. The menu was equally dated. Still, we were eager to taste the fresh seafood, so my husband ordered a menu special: andouille sausage encrusted grouper and I ordered the New England clam bake. The grouper turned out to be a steamed fish with a tasteless breading of what was supposed to be sausage. The clam bake was okay, as I think it is harder to mess up steamed shellfish, but the lobster and the scallops were a bit over cooked. The butter was tasteless and needed a generous helping of salt to make it work with the seafood. Both dishes came with the same bland side of steamed greenbeans and carrots. These had no flavor at all. To top it off, the service was less than stellar. We sat for the second half of our meal without our waitress visiting our table or offering to refill our water glasses. While not horrible, the food was definately not worth the price. The Oyster Bay is essentially turning out Red Lobster quality food at a premium price. Save your money and eat elsewhere.

After a terrible time trying to get into the Lobster House drove by here and no wait. Food was exceptional. Crab cake and steak diner was one of the best I have had. Very nice resturant but casual we had our six year old with us they had a great children's menu.

Hit this place up based on trip advisor reviews and a desire to avoid long wait times at Lobster House. The wait without a reservation for a party of 4 was 45 minutes - so it kind of defeated the purpose. The portions were disappointing with the food being merely average. The menu options were limited and there was no choice for a salad prior to getting the main course - we were told everything comes together. Pound and a half lobsters had a paltry amount of meat on each one - must have been a pound of shell. Atmosphere was nice too bad the food didn't match.

With a large party, sometimes it is difficult to please all. But, we had a wonderful experience where everyone was very happy with their meal. Beautiful murals, good service and tasty dishes.
